Halo Novel and Comic... Halo 5 story clues?

Before Halo 4 was released, two novel trilogies were made, one by Greg Bear and the other by Karen Traviss; the Forerunner Saga and Kilo-Five Trilogy respectively. They had many references to Halo 4… back stories of characters, objects and locations; story clues and easter eggs clues…

Halo: Spartan Assault, Halo: Reach and Halo 4, also had Halo: Initiation, by Brian Reed. This comic gave some back story to Spartan-IV Commander Sarah Palmer, the UNSC Infinity and the Spartan-IV Program, Jun-A266.

So my question is there gonna be more Halo clues in the two books released recently… I am of course talking about Halo: Escalation and the apparently new novel… that is currently unnnamed.

Lets also say that we could get possible clues in the Halo Television Series, like we did with Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn and Halo: Legends.

What are your thoughts on this… is Halo: Escalation showing really good promise for the next game… possible return of Elite multiplayer combat, possible return of Invasion gametype, possible return of Brutes, The re-introduction of Separatists Elites and the Arbiter, Chieftain Lydus, Lord Hood… and other stuff which remain as leaked content currently…

343 Keep up the great work… really enjoy the Haloverse expanding across other mediums and telling different stories.

I’d just be careful to avoid being too hyped over any hints of what might be in the next game.

People had a lot of crazy theories about what would be in halo 4, mostly regarding the Precursors, but there were other elements. In the end the Precursors got a sort of subtle mention without even being called out.

I don’t mean to rain on your parade. As you said, a lot of stuff in them DID end up coming up in h4 as well. Just be aware that some things may merely be trying not to leave too many loose ends, and keeping fans up to date on the status of some of their favourite elements. A lot of this seems to be spawned from fan demand, but isn’t necessarily indicative of the direction they are going.

After Halo 4 I’m generally tempering my enthusiasm and judging the game based on what they show, not on what’s cool in the recent books.

^^ What he said ^^

Plus, in the past the books, comics, etc. filled in backstory, and the game was the primary story engine. I don’t like the idea of the game picking up where some book (or worse, comic) left off. The game should make me want to read the other stuff, but the other stuff shouldn’t be a requirement to understand what’s going on.

On a side note, I’m not surprised that we have to read a comic book to gain insight about Sara Palmer.
