Halo Nightfall made me hyped for the halo Tv show

So I just recently watch the first episode Halo Nightfall series because I realized I forgot I had the code with Halo MCC for the halo channel for 3 years and man it makes me hyped for the Halo Tv show next year I mean it looks like in Halo nightfall they got the Guns right, the costumes, and even the CGI looks good. So hope next year the Halo TV show in 2021 on Showtime is good just like Nightfall is.

I fully agree, I think we have a real good chance of Halo’s TV Show being good. I came in watching Nightfall expecting it to be totally bland and uninspired, and was pleasantly surprised.

A part of me still wishes the movie will happen, but until then, this will be a great way to experience it.

I feel like Nightfall gets a bad rap among the community. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a well produced series of videos that served to provide some good background for Locke. I hope the TV series can maintain the professional production values we got from Nightfall and Forward Unto Dawn.

I’m having second thoughts myself regarding the cast of halo tv series & the background of said characters seeing as they don’t match the halo lore nor the games. Read up on who they have playing which characters and see what you think.

I get we have Steven Spielberg creating this series, but character and background mean everything when making something that has been around for 20 years.

I think Nightfall is pretty bad. The characters are pretty dull and basic, and the CGI is pretty poor, even in comparison to Halo’s other project (Forward Unto Dawn which was good not great).

No idea what to expect from the new series. It can be just such a mixed bag.

I’m hoping that the series doesn’t resemble the production values or general quality of either FUD or Nightfall… IMO, both of these set a very poor precedent for quality in the live-action Halo space. Neil Blomkamp was involved in some live action trailers for H3 and ODST, I believe, which were both stellar. I believe Blomkamp was going to be in charge of a feature length Halo picture, but it ended up falling out just like the Peter Jackson version and every other attempt to get the series on the silver screen. I believe “District 9,” was actually the skelotonized and reworked product of the canceled Halo movie–or at least I’ve heard that several times. I think it’s an incredible shame that we’ll likely never see Blomkamp’s Halo vision really fleshed out.

To me, the potential that the live action trailers to date (even Reach’s Carter live-action bit, which wasn’t nearly as good as the H3 and ODST stuff but wasn’t bad either) was definitely not lived up to with Forward Unto Dawn and Nightfall. I’m glad some folks like them, don’t get me wrong, but I really haven’t got much use for them myself.

It’s my hope that the Showtime show comes out the gate with a good production value and a vision that isn’t directly informed by any of the live action efforts to date. I’m itching for something really fresh and cool for the Halo show. I do think they’re playing with fire by seemingly featuring Chief and Cortana as heavily as it appears they are–that’s just a very high risk, high reward situation.

funny, i was not so long ago thinking about re-watching the nightfall series. i remember liking it and i also remember most people did not enjoy it. Regardless i myself cant wait for this show to come out its been too long!

I didn’t like Nightfall personally. It nearly bored me to death.
