I cannot predict what the enemy player is going to choose as his starting weapon and armor ability, that is RNG and makes it impossible to predict.
Exactly. Which is why Halo does so well with its even starts rule.
If youâre going to have a loadout system, make the armor abilities distinguishable so people know what to expect.
Two people spawning with different loadouts automatically makes it different starts no matter how you twist it. Different starts =/ equal starts. Equal starts is when everyone spawns with the same exact gear. Simple as that.
Both starting wepaons are the same on both sides of the preset loadouts the only thing thats different is equipment and it doesnât matter as much when both teams are given the same things, the same choices. Like I said its only different in invasion because its human vs covenant.
Youâre just not happy in reach you canât abuse equipment control like in Halo 3.
And they are distinguishable the jetpack is so big and bulky on the back that you can see it looking at them face to face. The other armor abilities are hidden behind their lower spine but have different colors to them to let you know and identify what they have.
Unlike Halo 3 where equipment gets morphed into the persons body and is invisible to be seen so you donât know what they have.
You can say its different all you want but can they not choose the same loadout as their opponent?
I mean obviously we wouldnât need to touch the jetpack because of its size but the other abilities need glows.
It would need glows but at least its still visible compared to Halo 3
I know itâs more visible than Halo 3. I play it regularly.
They could. How often were online games filled with both teams using the same loadouts in reality? Never. You can continue to discuss the hypothesis that the choice of loadouts was equal starts but the reality of the system shows the exact opposite.
There have been many times A LOT OF TIMES that people on both teams were using sprint, armorlock, jetpack bubbleshield and etc. There has not been a single match where people werenât using the same preset loadouts.
There was always that occasional 1 guy who started with using something different such as hologram or whatever but people switch it up and have the same as him but that was the persons choice. As I said its the persons fault not the games fault.
There is no hypothesis play more and you will see. I would know from playing Reach a lot so I can back myself up from experience while your experience comes from 1 or 2 matches that you got stomped on by 1 guy using a different preset while you had the choice to pick his same loadout to be on equal footing as them.
Are you saying everyone on both teams was using either sprint, armorlock, etc or are you saying it was a mix and match? If it was a mix and match than those games did not have even starts.
Most people will choose the load out that best suites their play style. Were the loadouts balanced, mostly yes. Did loadouts create even starts? No.
Good for you. Iâm inheritor in that game having played over 10k matches and I do not agree with your hypothesis. On paper it sounds like equal starts, until you add the human element which makes that paper useless.
Reach isnât equal because players do not start with even equipment and weapons, fact.
But they do go look at the preset loadouts. The game doesnât decide and make one team only have sprint and dmrs and the other with jetpacks only and dmrs.
Thatâs not how it works, players are not equal to each other because they can have different loadouts.
Maybe now but at launch Halo 5 didnât have much and now Infinite has less content than what Halo 5 had at launch. Big difference is on disc Halo 5âs content on disc is just as bad as how much content is on Infiniteâs disc and will be more noticeable when 343i kill their servers someday.
The amount of sass in the original post is amazing lol
You can call me Tony Snark.
My lukewarm take:
Maybe Halo really needs to devolve?

This reply has nothing to do with this post. But I saw your forum challenge and I saw within a few minutes it was locked because you can âGoogle it yourselfâ even though you cannot possibly Google everyoneâs screenshots they may have and itâs also not likely one person could find out everything said about a game before its release. Monitors on here are rampant, especially that same guy who locked your thread. The yellow red flower Pfp bro sucks so bad
