In my opinion, the one thing that halo has really lacked since 343 has taken over is unique maps. The maps in halo 5 that we have seen so far are fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed each one, and I realize that the beta was mainly focused on arena play, which generally doesn’t consist of super unique maps. But just think of last resort, spire, gemini, and sandtrap. Those are just a few of the maps that I could think of. Gemini is a bit of a stretch, but the teleporters and the layout are very unique. However, the other three are maps that almost seem like they were based around a unique aspect. The wheel on last resort, the huge spire on spire, and the elephants on sandtrap. Halo 5’s map empire had a few structures that would raise and lower when shot at, but I would like something on these maps that really make them stand out. It doesn’t even have to effect the gameplay like the elephants on sandtrap. Just adding some unique aesthetics, since so far in halo 5, the maps set in human areas seem very bland. It’s just a white and gray building with nothing really going on. I think they could have easily taken the same layout and put it on a halo ring, with amazing visuals. Anyways, tell me what you think, because I truly believe that halo 5 needs more unique maps. Just imagine a remake of spire!
Halo 5 needs more map-based features and vehicles. We got a taste of it in Halo 4 with the spire type things that broke your shields on that DLC map. Halo needs more map vehicles to be drivable to keep it fresh- Scarabs, Mammoths, and perhaps giant air vehicles.
Remake of Chiron. Make it happen 343
I want to see installation 04 (as portrayed in nightfall) as a map

Even though it was voted the worst Halo map ever by IGN last year. Lol.
OT: If every map is set in a big, fantastical landscape, then that in itself becomes boring. Variety is as important, if not more so than the individual map designs. In any case, from Regret and Crossfire, the maps look pretty varied to me. What I think we could do with is a bleaker, grittier map. Like an insurrectionist shanty town, or a dark, dense forest that’s slowly overrun by Flood biomass as the match goes on, slowing movement speed over infected areas.

Ign also gave the newest pokemon a 7.8/10 because there was too much water.

Yeah, that flood map idea sounds awesome. And yeah, the maps in the beta were extremely varied, but crossfire was a forge map, so there will be tons looking like that. I think that regret was awesome, especially with the addition of the bugs. I guess the point I was trying to get across with aesthetics was that empire and eden were so similar looking, except for the time of day, but were both so bland. I just think back to the maps in halo 3 and reach. In reach it seemed like each human map had a unique theme (sword base, countdown, powerhosue), but in halo 4 and 5 (so far) we haven’t really seen very unique maps, especially maps with a human theme. Maybe if they made them more gritty like high ground and last resort it would look better.
Yeah, I like the remakes of the old maps that we got in the beta, & I hope we get way more original maps than remade on release.
