Halo needs more blood

now that I’ve triggered you with the title, just hear me out. I’ve been playing halo since I was a little kid, and there was lots of blood and violence, you’d punch a flood form and its arm would fall off, or shoot a grunt and its blood would spray everywhere. I played those games when I was a little kid, and I turned out fine. Halo is becoming a kids game, and it’s kind of ignorant to say that it isn’t becoming more family friendly. Was there any blood at all in halo 5? It’s like when you’d kill something, it’d just fall over like you knocked it out with no apparent damage taken. In halo CE, or 2, their blood would spray out and they’d fall flat on their face. Halo 5 death scenes are like “pop!” And now that jackal just fell backwards. It doesn’t showcase power, or war, or that the covenant are genocidal. But, whatever. Is 343i listening? Probably not. Might as well get it out there though.

disclaimer: some of these ideas originated from LateNightGaming

In halo CE,2 and 3 didn’t even have that much blood compared to other games, i mean come 343 at least add that much blood, i mean it looks like an action figure falling. Even animated PG 13 tv shows have way more blood then halo 5.

no blood is cool im fine either way. Blood in the game is not something i even pay attention to.

People are over exaggerating about this, but there is less blood. Covenant still have blood, Spartans don’t.

I agree with this a lot

I find it “ignorant” when people think halo is going into kid territory. When has halo ever been a real mature game? It has little to no nudity, very little cussing, and no gruesome scenes. It wasn’t a kids game then, it’s not a kids game now. It doesn’t “need” blood or gore to change anything. I’m still looking for one good reason why it’s needed. I’m still waiting for someone to tell me how it’s a kids game, have you even tried looking at your average halo gamers age? I think you’d be suprised.

Blood wasn’t something I paid much attention to in Halo. Doesn’t really effect me either way.

So exactly how is Halo becoming a kid’s game if you and others like you have been playing the earlier Halo games since you were a kid?

The lack of blood doesn’t make something not a kid’s game.

No they wouldn’t. That just straight up doesn’t happen. This isn’t Gears of War. At best you’d see blood in their general area, and if you sat there and beat them enough, you’d get more florescent blue blood that barely looks like blood.

Does it matter? We don’t play Halo or follow the story for blood. We play because Halo.

I would rather ask for more customization rather than blood but hey…

It kinda needs more blood but taking in consideration that they have a suit and an armour over it, i don’t think that the blood could actually make its way out of that.
At least not so much

I want to shoot my dead enemies and see the blood continuously pour out like the old games :(((

It hasn’t been a very mature game ever, my point is that it’s getting even less mature. No, it doesn’t NEED more blood, so I may have titled the thread wrong. But in the start it was about genocide and fighting for humanity in a one sided war, and it was darker.

Btw… Do you know what ignorant means?

Blood is a non-issue that can take a backseat to stuff that really matters.

I enjoyed the blood as well.
Was intense to unload an entire clip of AR into the chest of a charging elite on legendary. (60 rounds)
You just keep firing from sheer adrenaline…
Paint the room blue.

I know it’s not one of the more important issues but it’s been bothering me for a while. Besides, do they actually listen to us on waypoint?

Is cortana killing billions kid like? Civil war going on within sanghelios? You still haven’t mentioned “how” it’s going kid like. Do you know how many games are rated M with the lack of blood? Even past halo games were argued to have been undeserving of the rating M, but to me video game ratings really don’t matter.

You also mention how the original games were more “darker”, so I ask once again, is civil war and the death of billions across multiple races by cortana kid like? You also had people disintegrating into ashes in h4.

heres is my ordeal with this. As you already mentioned in your reply, halo has never been been an M rated game, or one that specifically meets the demands anyways. It’s also not aimed at your average 12 year old either. Halo as of late has also been getting more complex in controls and has added more of a “movement skill gap” which I don’t think your average 12 year old would want to learn. Halos targeted audience is going to be any group when it comes to age, but it targets as many people as possible(even tho it’s failing in the process) when it comes to drawing in new players. Halo is fine as is doing what it does even if it’s going more “kid like”. What it’s focus should be is on how it plays rather than making it more mature.

For or the record, I don’t ever remember blood “spurting” out in CE. It was fluorescent blood only when you meleed dead bodies. It never showed guts or an intense puddle of blood. It also had jokes, little cussing, no nudity unless you want to count cortana. What was lost that makes it more kid like today? It still has genocide in what cortana is trying to do now. It still has a lot of war going on. If anything, I’d say halo is just more “colorful” but that’s just me.

Blood is genuinely a turnoff for me in video games. Games like Gears are a lot of fun but I honestly hate the blood. Idk why “gamers” need to be synonymous with gore. Can’t we just have fun, fast and fluid gameplay mechanics without fetishizing violence?

Yes and no is the anwser. They definitely do watch, and they do reply once in a blue moon. They’re also not going to do every little thing we ask. Firefight, many sandbox changes, added reqs (pointless IMO), some game modes, ect ect have happened due to feedback on waypoint. There’s still a list for them to do though even with some of the stuff they have done.

But we don’t see the war or the death. We don’t see the lives cortanas taken, we only hear about them. If there was a cutscene that showed the guardians actually destroying stuff, collapsing buildings onto families and such, there would be no argument. But there’s not, we only ever hear about what’s going on. In halo 2 it was firsthand on the Cairo station as the covenant attack earth. No, it’s never been very mature but my point is that it’s getting less mature.

I really don’t care about blood in Halo 5, I still think more blood does the exact opposite: it is more attractive to “kids”.
But, I noticed that if you kill an Spartan with the energy sword, it drops a little of blood.
