Halo needs a option to opt out of JoinInProg games

I got banned for refusing to play 3 games back to back in which the enemy team was already winning by a lot.

I wouldn’t mind waiting a little longer to join a game from the beginning but that’s just me.

Stay in lobby and it will happen a lot less. Not a guarantee, but a way around it. Next time just don’t quit take your loss, stay in lobby and move on to the next.

This is why I’m glad we have the banhammer. You can’t just quit a game because you JIPed in a losing game. Stay in the lobby and JIPs won’t happen as much.

So you willingly did something that you knew you would get a ban for then come here to complain about it? Im confused.

Unless you’re getting farmed, you might as well just take the loss. The game will most likely just keep putting you in games where you’ll lose even from the beginning.

Pretty much this.

I understand the frustration NEN0 1991, I really do, I think we all do. It would be nice to have an option but I do understand why they have it too. I get both sides. If you want to avoid it completely, played any ranked playlist. Don’t be scared of ranked either if you’ve never played. Only way to get better is to play right.

You know, some people just complain for the sake of complaining.

OP,stay in the lobby and you wont get JIP so much.

Here’s a bright idea 343 - Don’t punish those of us who join in progress and only get an auto loss. Join in progress losses shouldn’t count against you.

There shouldn’t be stats in social at all.

I understand the sentiment but with an ever decreasing population it’s better for the game for people to always be able to get into games.

…or better yet, MMR should be taken out of social gamemodes entirely. Action Sack can get uncharacteristically sweaty, especially in the KOTH-type matches or Rift Ball.

There are two things 343i needs to do to address the JIP problem.

– First, allow people to opt out of JIP. Also, consider instituting a system in which each team has a value based on whether its players have opted out or not. (For example, each player gets a 1 for agreeing to JIP and a zero for opting out.) Teams with a higher JIP value are more likely to get replacement players faster than teams whose players have mostly opted out – so that players who don’t participate in JIP don’t get the benefit of replacements as often.

– If you get JIP’d, the matches shouldn’t count toward your stats. Not only are you more likely to JIP into a losing team (because they’ve been short-handed, betrayed, etc.), but when you come into a match late all the best vehicles and weapons have already been taken – so you’re immediately disadvantaged. Give players a free pass with no stat tracking and they’re more likely to stay in a JIP match rather than just quit again.

But what he’s saying is true why would I stay in a game to only lose and have it effect my record because the Join In Progress is turn ON where I can’t change it. So yes he’s right there should be a option to turn it ON or OFF.

I keep seeing people saying their stats will be affected. Do you people really care about your Action Sack win/loss record? Like, what? It’s understandable to not like JIP because you get put in lopsided games where there’s no chance of winning, but to say it will affect your stats in a social game is a little absurd. It just shows why stats shouldn’t really be in social or make them less prominent because it contributes to the problem of people taking it too seriously.

Im not refering to OPs idea,Im referring to his conplainment about his ban and that he complain about reciving it,even if he knew what will happen.

Not Action Sack, but Warzone yes I do care about my stats. Personal preference primarily.

Social gametypes, including Warzone aren’t really social anymore, with the MMR based matching system, it’s effectively ranked in a sense (343 has said so in the forums after the update a few months ago). So now, every join-in-progress goes against my win-loss, which is a huge factor when determining who I play against. I don’t want to play against noobs.

But then nobody would opt in and you’d never get replacement teammates when yours quit, and you’d complain about the quitting penalty not being high enough, and basically people would start to make the same arguments and complaints as they do for arena.

I don’t think win/loss determines who you play against unless you end up going on a losing streak and the game is trying to balance your w/l ratio. Then you might play worse opponents. Also, taking a loss every now and then isn’t really bad if you win more than you lose. Your win percentage is in the area where it would require several losing games in a row for it to go down.

OP stop quitting or stop playing. The 3 games you are complaining about the team you quit on won 2 out of 3. It’s convenient to blame JIP for your quitting ways isn’t it?
