So with the Halo: Mythos Encyclopedia coming out in Fall 2016, what are the things you guys like to see explored or visualised?
I would personally like to see more exploration of ship to ship warfare, the different classes of ships, the weapons and capabilities of said ships, the designations of Covenant vessels, a visualisation of a Fortress Class Vessel, things like that. What would be icing on the cake is some artwork on Admiral Cole’s Last Stand.
I don’t know how in-depth this book intends to get, but I’d like to learn more about the Ancient Humans. Even if they’re just a footnote in the Forerunner section of the book, I’d like to know as much as possible. We’ve seen their soldiers, their ships, some of their weapons so it would be neat to get names for some of them. What are their Soldiers called? What is the name of the armor they wear? What class of ships are these and how big are they? Hell, what’s the actual name of the Human-San’Shyuum Alliance?
For the modern era, I would definitely like to see more images and information on UNSC and Covenant ships. Considering people had to sit down and design some of these ships for Halo: Fleet Battles, that should mean there is some pretty nice concept art somewhere waiting to be collected for this book. I would love to see some high quality images of the Valiant Class which, from that one pic alone, is becoming one of my favorite ship designs.
Since the UNSC Everest was a Valiant Class, it would be great to see Admiral Cole’s Last Stand. And since Cole’s last stand was the Battle of Psi Serpentis, it would be neat to see some of those Insurrectionist ships that appeared to turn the tide before disappearing into the unknown. Some of those designs were said to be completely new and never before seen by the UNSC or the Covenant. Of course if this faction is going to play a role in the future, (hint-hint, nudge-nudge), then it might be too early to see concept art for ships that might not have been finalized yet. Then again the book doesn’t come out until fall of next year so I suppose there is plenty of time to work on that before it’s release.
Something I would like for the halo mythos book to talk about, it’s something barely talked about in fiction and that halo wars kinda dabble a little, and that is the industrial production capabilities of the unsc and the covenant, in both a small scale and a large scale, like how long does it take to make a firebase and how long does it take to make a pelican or a Wraith, how many ships does the unsc makes yearly, how many ships did the covenant have, etc.
Despite the fact that I’ve posted theories about Humanity’s technological progress between the 21st-26th centuries, and will continue to do so, among other topics, I would really like to learn what officially occurred in these centuries leading up to the Insurrection.
Ship specs. I love me some technical knowledge about ships (especially Covenant ones).
More info on Sangheili naming conventions. Specifically more about middle names (much needed clarification on whether or not 'Nar and 'Jar are related to Fleet Master and Imperial Admiral, respectively).
More information on the Organization of the UEG and UNSC, specifically the Air Force and non-ONI Intelligence Agencies. Plus non-ODST and Spartan Special Operations Units.
