I kept hearing about how great this book is on Waypoint, external sites, and through word of mouth. So, I went ahead and ordered a copy for myself a few days ago and it arrived in the mail today! While I typically read books on a Kindle, Mythos seemed like one that had to be experienced with a physical copy primarily because an e-reader cannot capture the beauty of the illustrations. I skimmed through the first few pages of the book and it’s all so pretty! Can’t wait to read it in a couple of days.
Better late than never I suppose.
Great call going with the physical copy. It’s a great read and very enjoyable to look at. There are a few tidbits of deep lore thrown in there as well to look out for.

Nice, I’m glad to hear that. Will keep an eye out for those
The cover is so well done too. It looks great in photos, but having it in front of you really brings out how cool it is.
I got it in hardcover from Barnes and Noble; it’s probably the best Halo guidebook ever made. Seriously, its beautiful!
Yup, that book was awesome.
I just finished reading all of the novels and it is a LOT of story to keep track of, so Mythos is great for a higher level overview/reference.
Definitely going to be reading through it before Shadows of Reach and Infinite!
Its so pretty. Im glad we finally got to see the Primordial and Bornstellar’s appearances.
Id love to see artwork of Chant-To-Green, Abaddon, Splendid-Dust-of-Ancient-Suns/000 Tragic Solitude, Glory-of-a-Far-Dawn,
Catalog, etc.

Seems like there’s a lot of potential for a sequel! I hope more books like it are made. It’s very unique.

Apart from the Encyclopedia, which was a bit of a mess, every other visual guide has been fantastic:
- Halo Visual Guide - Halo 4 Visual Guide - Spartan Field Manual - Halo MythosThere’s no reason to think another visual guide wouldn’t hit it out of the park. I hope we get some sort of cool art book after Infinite, if possible.

What did you think of the Field Manual? I have been debating on whether or not it’s something I should eventually get.

I enjoyed it. It’s more or less meant for younger audiences, so it comes off a bit more PG and has a “fun for the whole family” vibe to it. Still, if you’re a fan of lore, it’s worth the read. If you’re a fan of collecting “in-universe” items, that goes double.

Nice, thanks for the details! Going to put it on the wishlist since good Ha-lore is always welcome!
