Halo Music Section

Let’s talk about Halo music.

Music has been a crucial part in the series, whether it be walking through a dark swamp or driving along to escape an exploding super structure. I feel like we can all say we have a certain piece of music that jumps out at you, what can I say mine is?
Arrival

Why does this song stand out to me? It feels rather solemn, the circumstances in which it plays is amazing. It has such a serious/desperate feel to it, I just love it. Running along, fighting prometheans and trying to reach the Didact, it’s just amazing, I get a lot of emotion from the song, I feel it’s the end yet we are truly just beginning something new. It doesn’t only feel like it fits here though, whilst reading Halo: Silentium I played it during the battle of the greater ark (I like listening to stuff while reading) and did it add onto the atmosphere.

What is yours?

So many to choose from.

I really liked Halo Reborn and Greatest Journey, and Sacred Icon Suite 2 from Halo Legends.

I think 343i did great with music for Halo 4 too. Some may not be as memorable but there definetly were some good ones. Haven, Solace, To Galaxy (ending part), Revival for example IMO.

I thought Volume 2 was amazing, lots of great ones. Never Forget, Lasky’s Theme.

I love the Halo Soundtracks because each track (IMO) Stands out, but they still belong to each other.

Play any Halo Track and I know the place in the levels where it plays. Marty did an excellent job. So did the Legends team and 343 with Halo 4

A favorite is hard to pick. The Track Halo and Under Cover of Night from Halo Combat Evolved together with Enough Dead Heroes sums up the game for me.

Halo 2 and 3 Are really well done with Halo 2 adding and Halo 3 re-making the tracks to be more epic. Like Leonidas and one Final Effort. Arrival was like a movie piece. and the new choir pieces made the Ark have it’s awe. Halo 2’s Sacred Icon suite set the tone from Installation 05 and High Charity for me.

ODST was simply brilliant. It made the game like a movie. Difference for darkness. Bits and pieces. Perfect alone tracks. And the way the saxophone was implanted was very creative.

and Reach was perfectly heroic with the a touch of knowing your going to lose.
Before the fire and Ashes for example.

And Halo wars was very well done but to me it felt more like the music you would expect with that type of game. But lucky there where plenty of Halo theme’s in there.

Legends took what Halo had and did it like Halo 3. Make it more epic.

So to pick a favorite is VERY hard.

but I would have to say. Unforgotten. That piece made me want to learn piano. It’s… IT…or something. Don’t know how to explain it.

It’s the first song I transcribed for piano so along with Halo it bring up a lot of memories. Playing with friends. Finding out new story parts. that kind of stuff

On a Pale Horse, Last of the Brave, Skyline, and, of course, Warthog Run.
