Halo Multiplayer on PC

I was wondering if you need xbox live to play Halo 5 on PC. This has been bugging me for a while and i wanted to find a solution before i pay for it.

Halo 5: Guardians isn’t available on PC.
Halo 5: Forge is available on PC as a free download and its multiplayer doesn’t require Gold.
