I’ve been thinking about this recently and I have decided that Halo multiplayer is a lot like the Star Wars franchise. Halo 1-3 are like the original trilogy the best, with the fondest memories of all the good times I’ve had playing them, these new Halo games are the prequels, they have the same name but they are totally inferior to the original trilogy. They are aimed at a younger audience who weren’t around for the originals, but are now at the right age. The sad thing is, in ten years time when Halo 7 hits our screens the (now) new players will be cast aside, just like us original fans who helped build this franchise, as the next wave of cash cows (sorry fans) are brought in with promises of quick kills and medals for every button press you make. And just like us fans of the original trilogy they will hit the forums complaining that Halo 7 doesn’t feel like a real Halo game, and why can’t it be more like Halo 5, and the circle of hate will once again start to revolve as flame wars erupt all over the forums.
P.S. Spartan IV’s are the Jar Jar Binks of the Halo universe.
