Halo MP more of a camping game now?

The general mechanics feel good and the weapons seem balanced enough for a Halo game but don’t you think the slightly larger 4v4 maps seem to have slowed down gameplay a lot. I played Empire for the first time today and got bored with each team just camping with snipes on either end of the map. Truth is a bit better but still seems slow.

Depends on the teams to be honest. Though I think that if one is ballsy or determined with an SMG or AR, they can quickly flank and kill the other group like a badass.

The game seems to slow the more time people get with the beta. Taking risks are almost never rewarded with a highlight real moment. idk how I fell about this game yet. Hard not to get caught up by the quality. Just not sure if the fun will actually last. Could be like Titan Fall in that regard.

Motion tracker kills that most of the time.

Be stealthy or coordinate with your teammates to hold their attention while you flank.

idk… I can look at my entire screen. lol ~ check tracker non stop all the time.

edit:“be stealthy”? Crouch walk? Game moves too fast to flank a team while doing that. Don’t know that I have ever had that happen to me in a Halo game.

The maps promote more team based movement. That with how the CQC weapons are better than the BR/DMR this game feels more about setting up and holding a side of the map. Outside on Empire and Carbine side for Truth (Ironic lol)

Guess your right. Taking risks without co-ordination seems to get punished badly.

Same thing happens with older halo games. Halo 3 if the enemy team has snipe they usually camp. Camping is more for snipe maps, but with truth? That map is not the one to camp in

This is one of the first Halo games that I don’t feel like camping will help, I’m always running around the maps, but ya I have had that stupid problem where the other team is always camping with those snipers! I have also found that the maps are filled with more of sniper type weapons than just plain auto-matic weapons…

Hope they fix this…

They’ve changed the whole dynamic of the game to be honest. To me it feels like individual skill gap has been lessened and team shot/swapping/baiting is more rewarding/essential. It makes sense and I find this game has a lot of theory behind it’s mechanics that do work, but my god does it slow down to a crawl when it’s an even match. Its like Sword Base in Arena lmao

Nothing can beat Halo 4 in the severity of campers.

I think most would camp whenever snipers come into play.

I agree they have improved it a bit since Halo 4. Just going to go back to maps determining how teams play the game in order to win more now I think.

No flanking? You can flank so much in this game… there are various openings and ways to coordinate and with the enhanced movement you can quickly wipe a team off an entrenched position. It’s not about just going in and shooting. It’s about being at the right angles, backing out when needed, chasing after lone enemies and moving to safe zone, there is a lot of movement and tactics involved. You just have to learn how to use it.

when you start up the game it says control the power weapons to win… what part of that did you not understand
