Halo MP formula vs Destiny

So I’m currently in an argument with my friend who keeps saying that Halo multiplayer is crap compared to destinys (even though he hasn’t played it) and that Destiny is better and takes more skill because people have to work for the OP guns, and I keep saying that equal starts reward actually skilled players rather than some grinders who may or may not actually be good at the game. He’s also trashing halos story (again, knows nothing about it) in favor of destinys which is laughable. But since he’s stubborn, I figure I’m allowed o ask my buds on waypoint what they think. Thoughts? What makes halos formula special to you?

Destiny multiplayer is not even worth comparing to Halo. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

I wish I could tell him that…

  1. I played Destiny.
  2. I’ve played every single Halo, aside from Halo Wars, because that’s just crap. (to me).
  3. I liked them both, they both have their own distinctions.
  4. Destiny is great, IF you take in to account the games that are even ranked/leveled/skilled/weaponry as well. I would STOMP kids on my account, I think I’m at like 2.7 or something K/D, and that is before the release of the ‘wolves’ DLC, I still have the ability to download the 2 DLCs, because it came with the Ghost edition, but I left the game and came to MCC.
  5. MCC has had problems as well, but I stuck with it, because I absolutely love Halo.
  6. Halo 5 Beta was amazing, they had to change a few things, but the overall gameplay was solid.
  7. Halo 5 will be in my (brand new Halo 5 themed) xbox for the next few years, until they make Halo 6. Hands down.

Why waste your time arguing with someone about a game that they haven’t even played???

I’ve played both, and in terms of skill, I would definitely say Halo takes more skill to play.

Right now Destiny is dominated by a gun called Thorn which can two shot someone because it leaves a lingering poison. Shoot two shots off, duck and run. Easy kill. How do you get this gun, you ask? Skill? No. Luck and lots of praying to RNGeesus for its bounty to drop. Everything in the game revolves around luck, not skill.

But with Halo, you have equal starts, you have a chance to fight back. It’s not a matter of “is my impact better than yours?” or “can I land two head shots hoping you only land a body shot?” or, my favorite, "I hope they don’t have sniper ammo or, worse, final round. " Nope, with Halo it’s who has the better aim and can react quicker to the situation at hand.

Tl; Dr: Destiny revolves around luck and RNG, Halo revolves around skilled aim.

Don’t even get me started on the story.

^this

Since your friend hasnt played it let me inform you from a guy who has.
Destiny’s mp is just flat out brocken and its called the hunter class. Add on some op perks and its no longer fun. Any noob with a blade dancer and a gallihorn (sp?) Is going to go 10+. Considering they are giving those away this weekend destiny’s mp is going to get worse. Also you have to level up quite a bit to play the mp. No jumping in straight to mp. Also those raids that are so difficult and require 6 people to complete the rewards are useless, stuff you get from the mp is leagues better.

This by all means. Destiny is not worth comparing to any FPS. It took them almost a year for them to fix 2 guns completely running MP. Idk what happened to Bungie, but this isn’t the same Bungie that made Halo

He’s not even worth arguing against if he’s actually saying that Destiny’s story is better than Halos when he doesn’t know anything about it.

Destiny is horribly unbalanced, its not even worth comparing it too. Hunters and warlocks have blink, all people do is run around which shotguns. Freaking pistols perform better then any rifles.

Destiny’s MP is unbalanced as hell no matter how hard they try to balance it. At launch it was dominated by Suros Regime AR and Vex Mythoclast. After they nerfed those to oblivion people switched to Fusion Rifles that had the range of a sniper rifle. After the fusion rifle nerd it’s dominated by Thorn handcannon and snipers that have The Final Round perk.

That’s just the PvP. In PvE if you have Gjallahorn and Blackhammer, you can kill any boss within a minute. All those OP guns I’ve mentioned are based on luck. I’ve put around 300 hours in Destiny and still don’t have Blackhammer.

The problem with Destiny’s story is, it has an amazing lore but the way the game tells you the story is laughable.

Destiny’s multiplayer is more unbalanced than that fat kid on the seesaw.

The Twilight Saga has a better story than Destiny.

Sounds like you need a new friend!

Destiny’s mp is fun when you don’t feel like trying or thinking as you can literally do fine without having any skill, just get any shotgun, I would recommend the matador. But Halo always takes skill due to equal starts. And halos is say better, but in my opinion, you need to be in a certain mood for Halo mp. Maybe warzone will change that. On a side note, xur is selling gjallihorn, and I don’t have enough strange coins, and I can’t get any since the strike is only for the dark below I’m 2 coins short. Y u do dis bungie!!! :frowning: I SPENT EVERYTHING ON LAST WORD!!! cries himself to sleep. No seriously, he should play Halo before judging it, and destiny’s story is crap and the mp doesn’t have nearly as high of a skill gap as Halo…

No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no

Arena/loadout shooter vs mild-RPG based shooter where you have to actually focus on leveling up and grinding for better weapons.
Yeeeah, I’d rather play Halo 4’s MP over Destiny. Destiny’s MP is ten pounds of NOPE in a five pound bag.

Fantastic 4 ('15) has a better story than Destiny

Halo wasn’t taken off the Pro circuit until late in Reach’s life cycle. Pro circuit wouldn’t even touch Destiny at all. That alone speaks volumes.

There is no “no” to that statement. The twilight saga has a better story because it actually has one… Wins by default.

What story? I literally thought it was an endless firefight mode from Reach with bosses and crap until now. /s
