Halo Mission Designer

When forge was released it brought many new features that let creators design huge detailed maps and command objects.

So do you think it would be a cool concept to add a mission designer with fully functional AI e.g Elites, Grunts or Prometheans and mission objectives that could also be implemented into multiplayer?

Cool, but absolutely enraging for developers to make and for players to further use if to talk about games of Halo5 scope.

I think you can just implemented these kind of mechanics into the forge sandbox. In fact, I suspect that’s what they’ll do next.

I’m thinking the same. Just expanding beyond that would put too much stress on the system.

I hope when that when programmable A.I.s becomes a reality, I intend to recreate the first level from the original Marathon (1994).

A Firefight maker sound realistic!

I’d imagine that it’d be hell on earth with so many enemies swarming all over the map. Still an interesting idea nonetheless.

Regarding the implementation of A.I.: I think they’d first need to mess around with their engine (or even get a new one entirely) to really make it work. H5s forge maos already get frame issues and such, adding in A.I. Would just expand that issue tenfold as that’s more work for the system. I imagine that’s part of why Bungie didn’t and 343 have yet to do it even if it’s something they’re wanting to make happen.

As cool as it sounds, I don’t know if the Xbox One X can handle it, since its outside the area you usually play with those features - campaign or firefight. In Halo’s single player levels, enemies are spawned in specific areas from scripts, as far as I understand. Maybe you’re saying 343’s designers can do that for making custom campaign levels? I can’t imagine the stress it would put on the system. If can be done on PC I bet, but I don’t know about Xbox.

Halo 5 alone, is a huge game sitting at roughly 106 GB in size. Throwing in all those features - let alone local multiplayer and split-screen - would make it too intensive for most. I fear the same for the next game.

Technical might be a problem with this idea, but I’d love it if 343 could do it!

It would be awesome, because I do a lot of forging, but they can’t even seem to keep the features they had in their old games, much less add new ones. And MCC has so many bugs in Forge mode, I’d be happy if they could just make everything they already have work.

This should probably go in one of the H6 wishlist threads. Thanks!
