With the impending PC releases (cannot wait), and cross-play being something everyone wants, I believe keyboard and mouse native support will happen for Halo MCC on Xbox.
Fortnight, WarFrame, War Thunder, DayZ.
These games have KB&M support implemented fairly.
With MCC PC clients getting the native support it’s extremely likely XBOX users will get it too.
Halo 1 KB&M > controller (minimal aim assist on controllers)
Halo 2 KB&M > controller (minimal aim assist on controllers)
Halo 3 KB&M >= controller (better aim assist on controllers)
Halo Reach KB&M =< controller (more aim assist than all above on controllers)
Halo 4 KB&M = (the most aim assist)
Of course these are generalizations from my own opinion. I’m great at the Halo series and also been a Quake KB&M player my whole life; I got to experience the LAN days of Quake 2, Quake 3, UT so I can KB&M well too.
I offer this perspective for consideration - Destiny 2 came out on PC and I bought it after already playing XBOX D2 for the whole release. I jumped straight into Crucible PVP with a controller - it was waaaay too easy. KB&M players didn’t have a chance IMHO against the aim assist of a controller on D2 PC with my pre-aim and map awareness, which I think is exactly how good controller players play. KB&M can flick, but minute mouse control didn’t stack up to the aim assist glue and average movement speed of the game.
I’m interested to hear your impressions and expectations of KB&M for halo!

Maybe in the future they will happen
i prefer KB&M since i can aim better plus most games that have that ability supported makes it cross-platform so it will make it more fair to controller users. and since the game is yet to say that reach will be cross-platform (that i know of) it might not happen which in my opinion would suck but the thing is though is that they have cross saving for different platforms so hopefully we will get a announcement of some sort that we will be able to play cross-platform with PC players (or Xbox depending on your stance of platform for gaming)

Reach crossplay is being looked into, currently, there will only be crossplay between the Windows Store version of the game and the Steam version of the game.
