Is playing split screen CO-OP with MCC possible on an Xbox One (first gen)? I tried looking for this answer, but see different posts everywhere I look. I also need to know if it does work, does it still show the black bars on the sides of the TV for the display? Any other information that you can provide would be great!

Xbox One and Series X/S is the only platform that allows split-screen at the moment. Campaign split-screen coop maxes out at only 2 players for all games, but multiplayer split-screen is 4 players for all games. (Note FF is only 2 players). Halo CE and Halo 2 do NOT have black bars, all other games do.
Expect a pretty noticeable performance drop on the base Xbox One. If you have a One X or Series X/S performance is better as well as better level of detail settings.
