I updated my copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection today with Halo 2: Anniversary, and the install size is smaller than it should be.
It’s using 64.7 GB, yet according to yesterday’s patch notes, it should be 75 GB. I have both Campaign and Multiplayer installed for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, and Halo: Reach.
I’m not complaining about 10 GB saved, mind you, I’m more curious if I’m missing something. What’s your overall install size if you have the Windows Store version?
I did have some issues getting Halo 2: Anniversary to be recognized. My Windows Store App auto-updated the game, and the files showed installed in-game but were "X"ed out and when I went to Campaign, it would tell me the content was not installed and asked me if I wanted to do so. I kept checking the Store for updates, restarted my system, unchecked the Halo 2 content in “Options and Career” (but didn’t confirm the removal), and finally decided to accept the Campaign Menu’s request to install the content, which did nothing.
Another few minutes later a notification popped up in Windows saying that Halo 2: Anniversary has just been installed, so it looks like it was installing the entire time even though it was already showing complete.
Everything is working fine now, save that the overall collection’s file size is about 10GB smaller than it should be.
