Halo MCC System Link info Needed

Hi all,

I am a big Halo fan (especially Halo 2) and i have an Xbox one.

Before that, i made a lot of Party Lan games on Halo 2, and i bought 2 Xbox, only for that.

But now, i have a question :

  • I am going to buy my second Xbox One, only to play system link on halo 2 MCC. So, i will have 8 controllers, two Xbox One and Two games Halo MCC.

How can i create a Lan game beetween these 2 Xbox one ?

On my first Xbox One, i have a Gold Account. But on my second Xbox One, i have only an xbox live account, but not gold.

So my first question is : do i need 2 xbox live Gold Account ?

My second and last question is on hardware : like old party lan games on first Xbox, we just have had to link them with an ethernet cable. Is it the same on Xbox One ?

or i have to connect the 2 Xbox One on my Internet Box ? Do i need a swicth?

thank you for your help and sorry for my english…

As far as I understand it, you won’t need two live accounts because custom games can be played offline, however you’re still going to need both xboxs hooked up to the internet so it can verify that both copies of Halo MCC before switching your game to a LAN Lobby. If you already have a router with an extra spot you won’t need a switch, pretty sure both xboxs can be on a wireless connection to work too but that’ll make the game slower because wireless doesn’t provide as good a connection as a wired connection. How do you know you’re actually playing over a LAN? it doesn’t say anything new, it’s just like sitting in a lobby over the internet.

So the game DOES support wired system link play?
I understand you need to be connected to the internet, but after doing that you CAN system link xbones together?

Just got out of chat with MS Support… the XBone does NOT support system link. Ridiculous.
Excerpted from my chat with them:

Sebastian: As of the moment, connecting Xbox One console to another Xbox One is not yet available. This feature is currently available on the Xbox 360 but not yet on the Xbox One.
Sebastian: But worry not, Microsoft is already making an update. Maybe one of those updates includes this feature. We are also waiting for this to happen since me and my buddies here always wants to play LAN on a lot of games. There is no update on when the update will be release but I can assure you that it will be announce in public.

I probably won’t hold my breath.
