Halo MCC Playlists have been broken for years

I’m not the first to run into this as it is very easy to find plenty of other posts on Reddit regarding this same issue. And this issue isn’t just found in the Master Chief Saga Playlist, but numerous other playlists as well.

What’s the problem?

Playing certain playlists in co-op without having the hindsight to google if there is a bug, will leave you being screwed over. In this case for the Master Chief Saga, the bug is in regards to Halo CE’s “The Maw” and Halo 2’s “The Heretic”. As you can see in the image above, my friend and I are “35/46” of the way through, when that should actually read “37/46”. We did not know that if we were playing co-op, but you actually have to stop playing co-op for these 2 particular missions, because if you don’t, then you run into the issue that we ran into, where the missions just don’t read as complete.
So we’re about to start the Halo 4 portion of this playlist, but once we finish it, we will only be at 44/46, which means we won’t actually finish the playlist. Which means we have to start the entire thing over. This has been an issue for years for this and multiple other playlists, yet they’ve never been corrected. That should not be the case. How can 343 find something like this as acceptable?

edit:
this whole new waypoint system sucks. i first couldn’t upload a screenshot, and now I’m finding out that I couldn’t even post an imgr link to said image.
so when I’m referencing an image above, it’s of my run through of the master chief saga playlist that reads 35/46 complete but with The Maw and The Heretic not having blue indicator lines underneath their thumbnails that would be used to indicate that the missions were complete.

Co-Op has long needed some love in MMC, but with Infinite coming out around the corner I don’t know if 343 has the power to spare devs for it. Btw, images don’t work at all on my mobile. :frowning:

Hopefully if the seasons are off the radar for the rest of the year who team working on MCC will be able to spend time looking into more bugfixes like this.

And that’s not even mentioning the fact that–

  1. Halo 3: ODST missions were not added to any Cross-Game Playlists or given any dedicated Cross-Game Playlists of their own. (Despite being featured in the Cross-Game Playlists’ artwork rotation!)

  2. No legacy Cross-Game Playlists have been updated to include levels from Halo 3: ODST or Halo: Reach.

  3. Both “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Guilty Pleasure” Cross-Game Playlists feature incorrect Halo missions! (“Welcome to the Jungle” including the H2 mission “Gravemind” – which is NOT a jungle level – and “Guilty Pleasure” including the H:CE mission “Two Betrayals” – which is NOT the H:CE level that features 343 Guilty Spark as your ally!)
