I purchased MCC in December and had a lot of fun with Reach (beat the campaign 3 times on different difficulties). When the January 29th patch came out I tried updating my game. It always got stuck without any progress. Sometimes I would see one of the many Microsoft Store errors. Since then I’ve tried at least 4 different solutions making it work again. Nothing did work. I thought that maybe I was too low on disk space and uninstalled Halo Wars 2. Tried again, same result (no result). I then went reinstalling Halo Wars 2 through the Microsoft Store which worked fine, so I guess my problem is not with the store in general but rather Halo: MCC in particular. I also tried uninstalling Halo: MCC which only left me with the same issue and no MCC at all
Is anyone experiencing similar or the same issue, please let me know how you managed to solve it.
edit: 20 mins after I wrote this, 1.5 hours after I started having this issue. 30 mins after giving up, it starts downloading. (i have fast internet)
My fix was, waiting 1.5~ hours hopefully this is your fix too… Sorry.
edit2:
nvm it made it about half way then failed, still in same boat as you.
edit3: omg i was raging. I fixed it, I think folder permissions on an external got messed up. What I did was chose to install it to the same drive windows is on, via xbox app. Then I moved it with windows storage settings to the drive I wanted… hope this helps you.
What I can say now is that sometime while Halo Wars 2 was still downloading I hit the download button for MCC again and it started doing something to my surprise. I left the computer for a few hours and when I came back it kinda failed halfway again. Right now after several restarts it began downloading again and I’m hopeful that it will finish this time.
I already install to the system drive anyways. They really need to put a lot of work into the Microsoft Store if they want more people to consider it as a real competition to Steam or even the Epic Store.
