Whenever I start to play, my memory usage keeps increasing until it reaches its maximum and so my game starts stuttering, making it unplayable.
Happens in Halo 4, Halo 3: ODST… doesn’t matter, the issue is concerning all the games of the MCC.
Started after I installed the patch adding Halo 4 to the collection.
Anyone has an idea how to fix this or where does it come from ?
As this appears to be an issue with your game, we recommend heading over to https://aka.ms/HaloSupport for further assistance. Please review the latest known issues and submit a ticket if your issue is not listed.
Thanks!
This same thing happens to me. I already submitted a ticket, but yeah not very enthusiastic it’ll go anywhere.
I also see the exact same issue
I am also having this issue.
Edit: I have also submitted a ticket.
Same issue for me, still occurring as well. Just submitted a support ticket.
Hopefully we can raise more awareness because this is issue is super frustrating.
In case anyone is still having this issue, the issue was the windows insider build I was on.
This is also happening to me on Windows 10 build 21286. I have to restart the game between every campaign mission.
Also having this issue happen since the halo 4 update. Windows build is 21286.
Same issue, build 21292
Same exact issue, it happened on the previous insider build and on this one as well. I have to reboot MCC about every 30 minutes to an hour for it to remain remotely playable. System performance shouldn’t be an issue (I’m running an RTX 3090 and Threadripper 3960X). My Win10 Build is 21292.rs_prerelease.210108-1514; I can’t really jump off the insider build since I need to use WSL2.
Memory usage for MCC-Win64-Shipping.exe thinks it’s the Bitcoin price or something, just keeps going up for no reason.
So I may have been able to fix some of this issue, and some of the framerate drops that the game experiences because of it. It doesn’t completely solve it but its better after 3/4 matches than not doing it. There are two other services in the event log that show the same kind of error that I fixed as well. Memory leak is still present.

I forgot to give my update. If you are running a Windows Insider build, then that may be the issue. That was what was happening in my case. It’ll get fixed before MS releases the build to the public but while it is testing, you may run into Windows OS optimization issues with things like MCC.

Would be more understanding if I experienced the same memory leaks and FPS drops in other games on the same build and it wasn’t just an isolated case.
Either way, I made a report, they are aware of the issue and that it’s connected with insider and they’ve tested it themselves, so hopefully it will be fixed eventually.
FYI it appears to be fixed now, at least for me. I haven’t had any problems for about a week.
