Two players on red team; raynoy and SydSed quit the match a few minutes into the match.
Two players on blue team; INFINITYMAN678, INFINITYMAN678(1) get booted after x amount of accidental betrayals about half way through the match.
Shortly after the boot I had experienced lag on my end. Unsure about other players. This infuriated me but eventually the match was over. The screen faded to black then I was awarded Tourist (Halo 2: Complete a match on at least 8 different classic multiplayer maps.) The screen remained black for estimated 10-20seconds. Then when the fade to black was over it had restarted the match with just me in it. The announce says “Slayer” with 09:58 on the clock. I spawn with ammo.At this point all players names are grayed out except mine is in white. The players I listed above as quitting/booted have no emblem next to their name. The remaining players excluding me have the red x symbol where there emblem would be. When the time runs out the announcer says “Game Over” Then the screen fades to black. Then it shows all the other players with grayed out names and no emblems (or red x.) Then the screen remains black for around 10-30 seconds. Then restarts the match again.
I have let this go on for 5 rotations [ not including the original game in hoping it would end due to possibility of quitting infraction. In total time 1 hour. I left my character idle while I did other things around the house waiting for the game to end all the way. When I go to leave the game I get the message " Leaving the game before finishing will result in a penalty to your Xbox One reputation across all games, Additionally, if you quit too often, you will be temporarily banned from matchmaking. For more details on the Xbox One reputation system, please go to Enforcement.xbox.com" Upon doing so the post game stat screen appears with stats from the original game. It wasn’t a big deal for me to let the game run multiple times while I did other things. Hopefully this will help other players if it happens to them. I am assuming you can quit without having any repercussions due to not receiving an additional message about quitting.
TL;DR: If this happens it appears you can quit without affecting temporary bans.
