Halo mcc is an example of why letting players fall into a meta is bad

Meta is everything to certain people, which is why its very unhealthy for a game to have a constant meta that will never change

example: halo 3 being the ONLY GAME people will play, causing all of the other games populations to die
example 2: weapon variety being shoved down a pit for a great weapon that everyone will fall too and think is great for everything, results in stalemates across the maps with NO ONE DOING ANYTHING AND GETTING THE OBJECTIVE DONE.

Too many times have I seen games just fall into “oooo we dont wanna keep dying so lets just stay in our spawn and not go out” and it just becoming a tie because the timer ran out

Spawn camping is a common issue in Halo 3 and Halo Reach. I don’t think 343i cares much about dealing with this toxic type of behaviour sadly and just comes off as bad game design and concerning when people at 343i say it’s designed this way on purpose but I kind of wish 343i would care to deal with the design flaws and make it more enjoyable.

I have had games in Halo 3 where the game was clearly unbalanced mess and had to be pushed back since walking out would have been mostly an instant death while with Halo Reach Invasion is mostly one sided due to people exploiting designs flaws that 343i refuse to fix. Plus then there’s the cheating on PC that 343i seem to be slow to do anything to do with both MCC and Halo Infinite. :pensive:

yeah honestly some things in these games just feel so broken and just repeats over n over, its a show of how bad management and development of these games are

played a bit of reach and the game IS SOLID its just if there were some tweaks to its system like shields being nothing to headshots and some changes to the abilities it’d be more fun. but noooo only keep the changes in favor of making EVERYTHING ELSE bad and keep sprint the main babe

Lmao shields do nothing against headshots? Yeah no. This isn’t CoD.

But I agree playlists/modes/maps could be curated much better and more often. Wish I was in charge of that tbh.

I think the best example I can think of they spawns being bad and 343 not really caring to address it is Valhalla on Halo 3. I liked it on the 360 but I borderline hate it on MCC. The spawns almost never change other than between 2 maybe 3 spots, where as on the 360 if your team is being spawn trapped you’ll spawn on the other side of the map. Where as on MCC I honestly can’t recall that even happening really. Most times if ,y team is getting spawn trapped I’d just keep spawning by our initial base somewhere and we’d just keep dying because we can’t leave the area of the base.

There are a few examples (like the SBMM in social being one issue) but that’s the one that comes to my mind first.

you do realize bleedthrough in reach is so bad that it can oneshot you through shields if low enough?

Maybe people would get out of their spawns if they had advanced movement like Halo 5. Your a stick in the mud now. No wonder no one wants to move. The moment you push up you get beamed so might as well pot shot, hide behind corners, and run away from even the slightest damage to your shields

@DeadCassette, you’re all over the place on these forums. Sometimes you’re pro-classic, other times you treat Halo 5 like it’s the gold standard for shooters. You’re usually in favor of advanced movement, yet you’re anti-sprint. And when I “grilled” you on that inconsistency, even you had to admit that it didn’t make much sense.

I think you need to put a lot more thought into your positions and why you hold them.

I’ll try to put it in order so it makes sense.

  1. Classic Halo should’ve been halo infinite if “going back to its roots” was the goal. This is number one on the list because this is what should’ve happened above all else even before my own opinion of Halo 5.

  2. IF Sprint was to stay, which it did, then I would like it be based on the HCS settings of Halo 5 which removed the spartan charge and the ground pound.

  3. Since we aren’t getting classic nor a Halo 5.5 then my suggested comprise Is to remove Sprint and replace it with the thruster. This is something that was already tried with a speical playlist in halo 5 and I actually thought this was what Halo infinite was going to be.

Overall I just want the game to evelove and not follow other trends or do the same thing for the 100th time in a row. For example. The BR. It’s been over done. Yes I like the weapon. Yes it feels good in halo infnite but I’m just bored of it already.

But that is the order of my opinions. I hope it makes a bit more sense

At least that’s not as bad as what was just suggested though.

And now somebody’s wanting H5 movement in H3? God no. Maybe as customs options IF literally EVERYTHING else that needs doing was done, otherwise it’s a hard no.
