so i just watched the halofollowers recent video explaining how infinite is going to be FREE TO PLAY, (this is epic even if it slightly risky regarding ingame transactions
anyway, he mentioned in the video splitscreen support for pc,
made me think will it be changeable like [-] horizontally vs vertical options [ | ] - this way i can play on one screen to myself, and my friend could use one of the others
i know its more work, but if they could make it so your friend can use an alternative screen
would there be a way to split the audio for both games, output 1 - output 2, so friend can play together at a high level as long as the system, can handle it without virtual machines installed taking up more cpu/gpu usage for more immersive gameplay
this is just an thought i wouldnt be mad if it didnt happen but hey i think i have a good point on this one

I doubt yall would be able to split the audio, but as far as splitting the video…if your on pc dont worry about splitting the video horizontal or vertical just add a 2nd monitor and get your own screen

i know but if code was added to allow for a second audio output on the camera node (for the first person camera) they could make it like the standard audio output detection, and give it a different output so when it detects another player the output audio picked up by the node for player 2 will be routed to the different audio output drive/device
(apps can be programmed to do this Example, Voicemeeter)
when it comes to splitscreen, its not as simple as plugging in another monitor, you’d need to force change the resolution to 3840x1080 or 1920x2160 (depending on the placement of the screen in the windows display settings,) if it was,
edit the resolution i added was for 1920x1080 secreens other screens may be different
I find it quite hard to edit your audio output to split the two screens purely because the game funnels it through one single output. While in theory, there is a point where the two audio outputs connect, it would be quite hard to do so especially if the game is programmed to do so -> you’d have to unsplit a spliced audio file which is very hard if not impossible. The easier way would probably be to edit your game code/mod it however that poses some risks for online play so I cannot condone that.
If they preprogrammed it, then you have nothing to worry about!

could have an option on the game to have 2 mono channels, 1 for each screen… wouldn’t be anything but sound effects at the point you remove stereo though
