So, this is a problem I’ve been having for a better part of two weeks and have decided to post it on this forum. I received both Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach DLCs back when they were both free, and for a while they have worked without problem.
Cut to two weeks ago and I go to continue my Legendary run of Reach and it says I do not have the content installed (even though I do) and it takes me to the Xbox Marketplace where Reach and ODST are now five dollars. Again, I already got both of these DLCs when they were free but now it doesn’t even register that I own them. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game three separate times, then I uninstalled the DLC themselves and it didn’t fix it. I even managed the games, but the DLCs are lock and I cannot activate them. What should I do?
Alright, so… I got some bad news for you.
They were never free.
What likely happened is that you had Game Pass, and two weeks before you posted this (that would make it roughly 6 months ago from my point of view) your subscription (likely a free trail you activated) ran out, and you lost access to the DLCs.
Sorry mate.

On the contrary, Halo 3: ODST was given out for free for those of us who have been with Halo: The Master Chief Collection since launch.
