Halo MCC game does not launch (GAMEBREAKING)

This post refers to the actual game, not matchmaking, customs, or campaign.

I want to bring to your attention that upon launching HALO MCC from the XBOXONE menu the game stalls on the initial loading screen and then fails to launch. I am then returned to the XBOXONE menu with the following error message:

“Please try again
For some reason Halo: The Master Chief Collection took too long to start. (0x8027025a)”

I have done some testing on my own and this is what I have found.

I reinstalled the game and the issue persists.
The issue began several hours after I had last played without removing the disc from the Xbox. Regardless, I still cleaned the disk and reinserted it.

FOUND A FIX*
Pull out all of the XBOXONE plugs and do a “hard reset”. This should work.

Hard reset? No offence to Microsoft but they really are going down hill by selling broken games and broken consoles. It’s a joke. If my xbox or halo mcc crashes again I’m bringing it all back to the shop and buying a ps4 instead.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the build?

I am also having the same issue. 5 seconds of splash screen, then black and return to Home screen. This does not bode well :frowning:
Edit: Hard reset worked for me.

Game doesn’t start for me,have a disc also.Just stuck at the first screen and returns me back to dashboard every time.I have done hard reset 4 times already and it still doesn’t work.Thanks 343 for breaking my game.

I am having a similar issue. After launching the game an initial screen comes up. The build never moves past this screen and crashes without any prompt or error report. This is after I successfully launched the game about 14 hours prior.

The game is still installing at about 67% and I have H3, H4 and ODST campaigns turned off. I have tried launching with the update both paused and un-paused and I have tried hard resetting multiple times.

My connection isn’t great so I’d prefer not to start the update back from 0

Edit: I’ve seen others mention this might be linked with ODST and I may have denied the ODST update request last night. Doesn’t seem to be a way to bring back that update request.

Update: I deleted my ODST in the manage game section for MCC and it reappeared as a 10mb installation. I installed this and and the game now launches
