To compensate for all of the issues with lag and other problems, 343i has released a statement regarding some freebies the orignal adopters will receive. I am one of the many who preordered this game and recieved it on launch day, but never actually got into a match. As such, I’m concerned that the compensation for these gameplay issues (which still affect us) will not be given to some of us early adopters despite our ability to provide proof of purchase. Will there be a system to correct for this?
As long as you have played a game of MCC (whether it be multiplayer or campaign) between launch and December 19th and it is recorded in your service record, you should be eligible to get the free compensation. If no games are recorded then I am unsure of how 343 will differentiate between who has and hasn’t had the game in that time. Anybody can say they had it since launch, even if they haven’t, just to get some free stuff.
Indeed, but I never ended up launching a game. I can easily provide proof of purchase but I’ve yet to actually find any form of official contact with 343i.
If u purchase the game and never launched the game o would not be compensate on the halo freebies it’s only for people that launched the game on launch day till the 19th
You never had to get into match. You only had to launch the game while connected to XBL.
Their official notice says you had to launch a match, but it worries me that there’s no way to confirm if I qualify or not.

This has been covered in the forums here a few times. The compensation is being rolled out in waves during the whole month of January. if February 1st hits and you still haven’t gotten your free month, you’ll need to talk to support. For now though, you should still be good 
Also, some people dont seem to be getting the message from XBL but an extra month has still been added to their Gold subscription so log into your account on xbox.com and see if you have time extended. Its possible you have already received it, but havent received a message. But again, don’t worry until february comes around.
Still waiting on mine as well. Played it on release day, and no love yet 
February and still no word. Checked my statement and I definetly paid for my next month.

Hi there, the free month is still rolling out to everyone right now. Bravo recently confirmed that the roll out process is continuing into February. It will keep going until everyone has recieved it. I wouldn’t worry, if you are eligible then it will hit your account soon

Two Matchmaking Games in one hour and that’s been about par. No problems in custom games minus the same chatting problems that have been supposedly fixed: NOT. The games we got into are still buggy and laggy. Kicking people. Weapons disappearing. Achievements won’t unlock. THIS IS JUST PLAIN RIDICULOUS. It has been 100 days!!! You have had 100 days to fix this game, a ton of days before that to actually test the game, and you can’t/didn’t do that!!!
Stop spending so much time on Halo 5 because it’s only a direct copy of Destiny and COD combined. It’s garbage. Try fixing some games that were actually good. I don’t see how you don’t put in more time because if this is the result for games that have already been released, what makes you think that anyone would want to buy a new game from 343. This is utter garbage. I have religiously played Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3 for years and I cannot do it anymore even though that was what was promised.
I pulled my preorder on Halo 5 and I will not be buying it unless this game is what was promised to me. As far as I’m concerned, you stole $60 from me, because I can’t play even half the game as was advertised. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE THIS! I have never had much to complain about with the Halo series but that just takes the cake. You need to give the franchise back to Bungie for free. You won’t make any money off of it. You might have to pay them to take it back after what you’ve done to the good name of the Halo Series. Either that or fire everyone and start with some competent individuals that know how to make a video game and actually like Halo.
