Halo MCC Fatal Error

Since last update I have unable to play halo mcc on pc. Currently using Xbox Game Pass. Campaign seems to run fine; however, when I play online in social, I will receive a fatal error in the pre lobby, or mid game. This makes the game unplayable, as well as unnecessary bans.

Troubleshooting steps:

I have tried to repair and verify game files.
I have reinstalled Halo MCC.
I have updated my graphics card drivers.
I have ran sfc /scannow
I have made sure windows 10 is up to date
I have also reinstalled windows 10.

This PC is strictly for Halo MCC.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Same problem here. It just freeze during the match and then i gets a fatal error. It started after the Dec update(not the 19Dec but before that). I have a support ticket at 343 (halo support) and they are investigating the problem.

I have this problem (only in 1/3 computers I have) but only when the game window is minimized (I’m on Windows 11).

Compared to the other computers, the one with the issue has a Nvidia RTX 3000 series GPU.

I fixed the problem with sfc /scannow. I know i wound help you but i got some corrupted windows files and now its working again.

Just started getting this error today.

Same. Randomly started getting it today.
Doing campaign related challenges for the week, did Winter Contingency, got the error right at the end and the game kept going despite the popup, so I let it finish to count progress on the challenge. Then finally addressing the popup error, it decided it was suddenly a fatal error and closed.
Restarted the game, and now it just errors as it starts up, don’t even get to the Press Enter screen.

I verified game files on Steam and reinstalled, scanned computer, blah blah blah, same basic things everyone else was doing. No luck.

Edit: It came back after 5 games. Now i cant even finish a game before it crash with “fatal error”

Same problem, only when starting the game right away.
Did all of the steps you did except reinstalling my OS, but nothing worked for me :frowning:
