I can’t download the game past 2.98 GB. It just gets stuck and doesn’t download. When I cancel it, sometimes it just comes back. Other times I am able to restart the download but it does not get past 2.98 GB. I tried wsreset.exe and I tried restarting my PC. Xbox support didn’t know how to fix it. I don’t know what to do.
I’m having the exact same issue. The game was properly installed and working until Halo 2 was released - then I was forced to reinstall, and it doesn’t go past 2.98gb. I haven’t found a solution, but if I do I’ll post here. I wonder if it’s an issue with the server?
Well it’s good to know I’m not alone with this 2.98gb thing lol. Other games download fine so it must be a problem with the Halo files specifically.

Someone suggested installing on C drive fixes the issue but I can’t test it because I don’t have enough space. Are you trying to install to C drive or a different drive?

I’ve tried installing on both my drives, just doesn’t want to install past 2.98gb regardless. Feel like I’ve tried everything and it won’t work. I’ve tried installing on another drive, installing through Xbox app, restarting pc, wsreset, resetting MS Store app data, updating Windows and everything in MS Store, and running commands through PowerShell and CMD. It’s strange because it installed fine prior to the Halo 2 update. As you said though, at least we’re not alone with this.
Yeah I tried all that too. At this point I’m just hoping the next update accidentally fixes it.
I really hope this gets fixed soon I’ve had to uninstall my whole game to get halo2 working and now MCC is stuck at 2.98gb and keeps telling me I am not connected to the internet even though I am.

Same issue here, have tried absolutely everything I can think of. Finished combat evolved, when halo 2 came out my game files decided to corrupt and i encountered this 2.98gb crap when it tried to fix it. Just hoping devs get on top of this asap.

So far they have just sent me back to Microsoft/Xbox who had previously told me to contact Halo support.

I got a Windows update about an hour ago and the download’s at 13gb now. If you haven’t already, try updating Windows and reinstalling MCC.

Cheers. Just updated and started the download again. It’s gone past 2.98gb. I’ll update this post if it finishes or gets stuck.
Update: It just finished! It works. All good now.
