I was hoping to get the attention of a 343 moderator, and see if he or she could direct me to how I can get into the halo master chief collection beta. I read though the FAQ and and gotten invited into the xbox one preview program through friends however, I was curious as to how I go about ensuring that I get into this beta launch this coming weekend. you see currently I along with my friend run the Halo: Master Chief Collection on Facebook Redirecting... we are currently over 7,000 members strong and are in keeping with the highest halo standards. This is hub where friends can talk about, discuss, all things halo. We love halo very much. Halo has been a tradition since I was a young kid. I’m much older now but I still remember when I played a game of halo 3 team rockets with your very own Frank O’ Connor. He gifted me with highly sought after gift of recon back then and have been a faithful follower ever since. ANY special programs your offer whether it be closed betas, or what have you and invitation or a message guiding me through the process would be much appreciated. again thank you for your time 343, and I appreciate the hard work you are doing to expand and build upon our already amazing halo universe.

@Raptures: did you just get invited into the Preview Program or are you already a part of the Preview community and receiving Xbox One OS Preview Updates? If you are already a member of the Program, you need to fill out the Halo: MCC Survey in the Preview Program app (you should have both the Preview app and Survey apps installed). That survey is your application to the Content Update Beta. If you just were invited into Preview, unfortunately there is some time lapse before you are properly setup. By the time they announce these types of Beta perks to Preview members, it is too late to get invited, accepted into, and be eligible for the Beta.
@Thrillsy EU: I believe Preview members also have to opt in to be Beta testers, they are not mutually exclusive, but you must be in Preview and agree to Beta test software. Then you may get some early access Beta type offers. For this one in particular Thrillsy, not all Preview members are invited either. We can only apply and then a subset of us will be selected. I am still unsure whether I will get in at the time I am writing this.
It makes sense for them to have this closed to a subset of Preview members. A) Those Preview members have to OWN the MCC. (So this is not just free game time for those that may not even own the game) B) They have to have put in so much time into the MCC to qualify. C) They have to actually play and test the new systems that this updateputs into place at the cost of not being able to matchmake any longer with the rest of the community that does not have it. D) They have to commit to taking their time to provide feedback and answer specific surveys polling information on particular game behaviors the developer wants investigated.
If they just opened this up to the public as a whole, it would defeat the purpose of doing this in the first place. Whether I get in or not, this is the way to do it, and a great system. It will ensure that when the public release comes in the very near future, it will be as polished as possible.
I know you are bitter, but I hope my explanations shed a little light on why this Beta does not represent “horrific behavior from 343.” Just hold out a little longer, this should be the long awaited fix we have all been waiting for since launch.

Im just concerned that if its america only, what happens to those of overseas?
I pay the same price for live, but cant get access to american/australian content because i live in Japan
Will this also optimize (actually able to play!) gameplay for us also?
Or are we the sheep of the noir variety?

Unfortunately yes I was just invited to be in the preview member program, as of now I have the preview dashboard and am awaiting the approval of the registration of my console. fingers cross I hop I can get through this soon granted I understand that I may not and I’m okay with that but I will not miss out on another opportunity in the future especially being a preview member now.

lol it aint gonna happen forget about it your not beta testing this update!! what you mean is u have the app, you dont have the beta dash, and you may not get in at all,

The Beta is limited to North America to limit population and ensure maximum population at the same time the devs can be most attentive to live feedback.
When it goes public, it will be global. So yes, you should (hopefully) have a much improved gameplay experience regardless of region.

- it takes 2-4 BUSINESS days for the enrollment to actually go through
- Just because you were invited does not mean you will be allowed in, there have been many people who have been invited and been declined.
- you aren’t getting into this beta patch test, the people are already selected and more won’t be selected
- Being a preview member doesn’t guarantee access to ANYTHING let alone this patch test so just because you are a preview member now just means you have a CHANCE to be part of stuff.
- Don’t think that this is going to happen all the time, this and the halo 5 beta early access are very special circumstances and this does not happen very often at all. It is mostly just early and experimental Xbox One console updates, meaning these are things that can and have crashed peoples from time to time. So learn about what it is to be a part of this program.
@DeumVerum: I am a preview member who was accepted, and did make the cut off to get in. the whole process took roughly 36 hours to complete but I made it! Apparently there is CU and they said the beta will be available in the “near future” so hopefully something comes to fruition soon.
