I’d figured that (just like with the Halo Infinite August Drop Pod Update) I’d make a forum for people to celebrate, vent, or however talk about the update that they just released. As a TLDR-
Release Date: August 31 (That’s the target at least)
Mod Tools: Halo Reach
Customization: 5 Armor Sets/X Number or Weapon Skins
“Spartan” (Season/Series) Points: “players will earn a Spartan Point from every level and players will retroactively receive points from levels they’ve already reached.”
Overall, I would say this was a decent update. BUT there’s still a major caveat. Here’s the quote concerning the big problem.
“No decision has been made around the potential for purchasable SP being added as a secondary vector in the future…”
It kind of baffles me that no final decision has been made, there’s only one week left before this update goes live. If you want to get conspiratorial, it could be argued that 343 is hoping that the implementation of retroactively awarded points will be enough to dissuade some of the anger over real-world purchasable items.
But I feel like we’ve all made our voices clear that this is not a feature we want them to put into MCC. At least, I know I did.
Anyways, what did you all think of this update? Like I said, with exception to the still ongoing intentions for microtransactions, I thought the other stuff was pretty good.
I doubt the implementation of mtxs would have been implemented in this update even if the decision was final in favor of them. The forum has let its voice be known, and I hope 343 makes the right decision to omit them.
I mean… The decision has likely already been made, and that decision is to put them in and ignore the community. I have no doubt in my mind that some out of touch manager at the top thinks MCC is an untapped goldmine of gullible idiots that’ll buy MTX because they like MCC.
Of course, it will backfire spectacularly, but hey, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
