I have a pre-ordered edition of halo reach and was wondering if that content transfers.

Nope, nothing from the 360 version of the game transitions over into MCC from your profile. It’s likley that those items will be available in some form though, so you’ll probably still be able to get them

I also have a preordered copy of Reach but all that it wound up amounting to was useless armor variants.

The more important question is whether or not the new game’s servers will be stable enough to support this new addition. With 343’s track record a stable release is dubious at best.
