Halo marketing

So what is up with the lack of halo anniversary ads. Every halo game so far has been heavily marketed. Even Odst got a nice ad campaign.

Will CEA get the same treatment?

i doubt it.but who knows,it could

I noticed the lack of marketing as well, I’m concerned myself about the fact that Halo CEA and Halo 4 aren’t even up for pre-order at my standard retailers. Normally they have the games up for pre-order as soon as they are announced. :frowning:

Hang on to your hats (helmets?)

Grin.

No worries on that front.

Shameless self promotion. it’s best to let it all hang out. Shame is overrated.

Think you can toss in a person landing the OS jump on the Silent Cartographer into a montage? At the very least, it could be funny seeing how long it takes the office to accomplish the task. (PS, already fully paid pre-ordered). You guys had me at Si.

It’s a remake for those who are already Halo fans. I doubt it will get a lot of Advertising… it’s not your run of the mill Halo game. It’s the first $40 game in the franchise and is being treated as such.

Seems like their best marketing tool is the cheapest: word of mouth.

Seems to me that they’re relying on this, not that its a bad tactic.

Regarding your montage idea? Interesting—but way out of the picture of what this game is…

No one is building montages of actual in game real-estate, and as noted by 343 almost all the crazy tricks that folks have done in the original have made it in, minus some bug fixes and some extra content.

The levels are real levels and real locations and have the same collision as the original (plus sounds, AI, feel, and such) but are all completely redone.

There is nothing about the Si or Ha or any other levels that resembles anything other than REAL IN GAME ASSETS and the closest we get to the word montage is our crazy distant /layered skies and vistas–but those are 3D rather than Matte Painting (Montage) as well.

As to shameless–I’m a fan and a player and have been forever–and I hopped on to try and be useful.

If you folks want me to leave and think that what is being done is for promotion rather than information I am allowed to discuss–say so. I haven’t got any rancor at the idea.

Grok?

Disregard him, Raymo. He’s just jelly he doesn’t work for Saber!

I know wat you mean. On a side note, halo 3 odst had amazing marketing. Best marketing in the series by far.

I’m surprised at the lack of marketing on the game as well. But it is, at its essence, a re-issue. Which doesn’t usually get a lot of fanfare. Besides, word-of-mouth marketing is working just fine and we all know that the game will be picked up by tons of people.

I’m certain you won’t have any beefs about marketing. I don’t and I’m hard to please.
[Well, that said, sometimes Forums are a good place for people to vent their spleen and they just do it to clear our their psyche. You may have noticed a few of these folks now and again.]

I know I got a lot of people I know to go out and grab it, and they didn’t even know about it until I told’em.

Hell, at my campus, the background I have on my profile is the Halo: Anniversary wallpaper. Passer-bys notice and ask.

Don’t expect heavy marketing for a game that is for fan at first. Ohhh and also it’s only 39$, so they don’t have the asset of deploying costly ads and whatever they feel like it.

I wonder how many people will pick this up thinking its Halo Ce multiplayer on xbox live.
A lot of people might be disappointed.
