so i was just thinking about what if they could bring different kind of marine models from earlier halo games in addition for future halo games (for example the marines from halo ce with boonie hats and pilots and other ship personnel with colored uniforms based on what is their job in the ship).
I love the H2A marine armor. That said, after the war, with humanity being the victors, the UNSC seems to have redesigned and updated all sorts of things (weapons, armor, etc.) I think the Halo 4 marines are what we’re going to be seeing for a while.
I’d love to see the various models based on game situations. Not every marine/army battalion gets all the high tech stuff in today’s world (at least, not immediately), it would be wrong to assume it would be that way in the future. It would be an interesting backstory if “better” or “more loyal” marine squads would get the nice gear, while marines that are rebellious or possibly linked to former human rebel families/worlds were given the old stuff. It would give the UNSC even more depth.
I’m certain we will be seeing the new models (which are pretty cool), but I’ve always loved the missions in the original trilogy where the marines had been taken by surprise and were all dressed in their boon hats (CE), or dress uniforms (H2) or the construction workers in H3.
I think the reach marines look pretty decent.
Just no paintball soldiers from h4.
I liked the halo 4 marine designs. Could use some touch ups but Halo 3 marines would be my vote
H2A or H3 marines for me. Reach’s army/marine troopers looked overweight/chunky. Lay off the McDoubles, guys lol. Halo 4’s marines looked way too similar to modern day soliders, plus some armor colors just didn’t fit the environment they were in at all, like white and bright tan. The colors are supposed to help you blend with the environment, not make you stick out from it.
Anything but Halo 4’s medics.
how about odst models to look more like in h3 odst where everyone had augmentations on their armor to match their area of specialty (like sniper had extra optics).
also the marines that are veterans of human-covenant war (where they fought flood aswell) could have battlescarred armor and lighter equipment like boonie hats like i mentioned about ce earlier.

Dont forget Halo 4 ONI security.
The Halo 4 ones look good. They look utilitarian, they look tactical and they look uniformed. It could use some touch ups like maybe a bit more armor and less bright coloring (medic especially) as well as the helmet scaled down a bit. Just combine them with parts from the Reach Army soldiers and Marines and it would be fine.

I think it would be great, would add alot of variety for both campaign and warzone
The Halo Wars Marines looked so cool. Maybe we can go back to that?
To me Halo Reach soldiers (especially ODST’s) were the best.
Id say reach’s were the best, but i think we should have all of them

The Halo CE marine armor is no longer canon, replaced by the Reach Armor. Basically Bungie themselves plainly stated that of they had the tech that they did now compared to then. That is how the original armor would have looked when they made it.
Bungie said that the Halo 2 Classic armor was reconed to the Halo 3 armor when they made 3, stating that the limitations of hardware prevented them from reaching their true vision
(Funny kinda the same reasons Frankie said in the redesign of chief’s armor. But no body flipped about the marines. But mess with the chief and people lose their minds)
Halo 2 Anniversary Marines ended up with that look for Blur made the cutscenes for halo wars and did the cutscenes way before Saber started working on the new graphics engine for 2A. Forcing Saber to used the Improved Insurrection era armor over a updated Halo 3 armor

The Halo Reach ODSTs were nothing more then EVA trooper armor with Halo 3 ODST armor slapped on top of it.
Example
Front.
ODST
EVA Armor front
Trooper
Side
ODST

Back
ODST
Trooper
Legs
ODST
Trooper
Camouflage Pattern (Colors are different. But ALL UNSC Personnel use the same pattern)
ODST Regular
ODST Bull frog. (The white is replaced with light green )
Trooper (heavy)
There are many camo colors. They all use the same pattern. But the color scheme is different, I’ll name them out for you
I noticed the Army troopers come in 4 classes, the class always has the same camo pattern
Regular trooper - Generic look
Heavy trooper - wears extra Armor and has a large ruck sack
Medic - One with all the medic symbols
Specialist - The one with the Radio Pack and Rangefinder Helmet
1 SpecWar/ Group 3 - All troopers found on Winter Contingency, only found here
4 woodland (Regular, Heavy, Medic, Specialist) - On every level that Has troopers in it, except, “Winter Contingency” and “Tip of the Spear” (They spawn in the Gunner seats of the Warthogs and Falcons on TotS level)
4 Desert - Tip of the Spear Only
1 Air Force - Found piloting all aircraft and in Air craft Wreckage. Also Piloting the Sabres and help you board covenant Cruiser.
2 ODSTS - Regular and Bulldog pattern
1 Marine - Pillar of Autumn Marines
Bonus. The Marines in Halo: CEA wear US Army ACUs.
Arguably Reach and 2A/Wars looked the best. Reach looked the most practical, it was a little bit bulky though. But it was the perfect balance between futuristic and modern IMO. H2A/Wars looks bad*** and awesome, but is a little bit impractical. Here’s an image of it, looks fantastic but the lack of protection in the abdomen area really bugs me.
But like MrMartini said, looks like we’re going to be seeing the halo 4 style for a while.

Halo 4 style offers the most customization and protection. People only look at the pictures out there, (having theater mode not in campaign really makes it hard to get good footage of the armor) But when you play, you can see a ton of customization to the armor in the dorm of extra plates, to ammo pouches and misc items like a real Armor Tactical Vest.
