A lot of people give Halo marine AI a lot of flak because they aren’t always some of the best drivers, BUT I will say that they are still some of the best npc soldiers in any modern game. In COD advanced warfare, other than the main characters, the AI is pretty bad. The soldiers will just stand there taking bullets and not really even react, but instead of immediately dying, they fall on the floor and sort of roll around in pain, then stand back up like a robot again. In Halo, the marines strafe around, toss grenades, roll away from grenades etc. Even in battlefield, I couldn’t help but notice that the AI is zero help. They either crouch behind cover and stay stuck like that for an eternity, or they fire like 2 bullets at a time. In Halo, I’ve had times where marines have actually saved my -Yoink- by tossing grenades and distracting the enemies. In COD, an enemy will completely ignore one of your allies even if they are 1 foot away, but in Halo, the AI will treat an enemy as an enemy whether they are the player or another AI.

I’ll never forget the gauss cannon gunner in the mission, reclaimer. Really helped on legendary when there were so many damn wraiths.

Yeah. And Halo 3 when you get that 5 seater after getting out of your base and give everyone beam rifles, and then fuel rods when you could. mmm mmm mmm, goood times.

I’d always take the troop carrier hog. So much more fun to just have a little squad of marines with you at all times.

I remember I’d always try so hard to keep them alive, especially in Halo 1 on assault on the control room on the beach.
