Uh, do you have a source for this info, because the Brutes and Prophets started the Great Schism, so I do not know which war you are referring to.

The power struggle between the brutes and the elites began the chism . in the covenant. The arbiter would be the first to start bringing a different order to the elites after the prophets and brutes turned on their principals.
