Halo Lore References

What is the likeliness that 343i will touch on some of the more obscure parts of the lore that not everyone knows having not read the books? I think there are certain aspects that warrant bringing up and shedding light on more. Such as the fact that John was imprinted with Bornstellar (Isodidacts) genes. We never get much of an explanation in other games. Like when Guilty Spark refers to John as the Reclaimer. They never divulge as to why he does that. I think it would be nice to give some information on things like that to the rest of the players who dont read the books. What parts of the lore would you guys want them to touch on?

I think it’s very possible they will. 343i are huge lore nerds.

EDIT: Though on the other hand they did say they want to make H6 a game anyone can jump into whether you’ve played all the games or not and be able to understand what’s going on. So maybe it’s going to be a simpler story like a Bungie Halo. If they take this route maybe they could add terminals (H3) and audio logs (H5) with all the deep lore stuff.

I think they could actually get away with a lore intensive story while still making something that people new to the series could understand. With the right exposition and actually fleshing out ideas they could introduce things without using knowledge you’d have to have from previous games.

Well, to agree with Spacemonkey, I can totally see it being both for newer players while being lore heavy for veteran players. I mean, being both is completely possible and a good thing. Because this means that newer players who haven’t been here since 2001 can catch up without having to really touch much outside of the game. (even though it would still be highly recommended to read the novels and what not. Lord knows I still have a lot of novels to read, I need to stop procrastinating already!)

I’m interested to see who the new lead writer is, maybe he/she could pull that off.
