Hi guys, I just finished up my new article, the first one in a series about the loose ends and how they could be tied up and effect halo 5, and its plot. The first article is on Spartan Ops, which has some pretty major effects on the story, and could impact halo 5 significantly. This article has no leaked content, and is all facts and my own personal speculation. Please give it a read!
As far as finding MB with the Janus key goes…not sure how that will work as it was said in Sp.Ops that it showed the real-time location of every piece of Forerunner tech ‘in the gakaxy’.
Since the Ark is outside the galactic border, I’m not sure the Janus Key would necessarily show its location. It may indicate a large signal coming from outside the galaxy, in which case it ‘may’ lead to Path Kethona and the derelict fleet too.
But who knows.

good point there, I did not even consider that, nice spot. Do we know if the lesser Ark (I think its the greater Ark in Halo 3?) is inside the galaxy border or not?
EDIT Scratch all that, just looked it up, it was the lesser Ark in Halo 3 and the greater ark is even further out than it

Correct. However…
…the Greater Ark was consumed & destroyed in the final battle between the Flood and Forerunner.
The only Ark left is Installation 00 (the Lesser Ark) from Halo 3 which, while damaged from the firing of the un-finished installation-04(B), was not totally destroyed.
A UNSC survey ship was sent there after the end of the war, where it discovered a weak Forerunner signal that led it to a ‘dying’ monitor by the name of 343 Guilty Spark, who turned out to be an ancient human by the name of Chakas that was composed by the Forerunners. 343GS then hijacks the ship and goes off in search of the Librarian, whom he thinks is still alive and supposedly knows her location.

FUUUUUUU- I pride my self on my Halo knowledge, god-damn dude, I need to read those books again apparently, I didn’t realise that took place on the Ark, I assumed it was a Halo. I never did follow Greg Bears writing style very well,
Thanks for the info!

Well, we wouldn’t need the Janus Key to find the position of the Ark given that we’ve already been there.
Path Kethona is an interesting case, as it’s likely where the remaining Forerunners exiled themselves to after Rebirth. However, I doubt we’ll see much use of the derelict fleet given that the ships were decimated by constant bombardment from elements over ten million years.

Forgive me, I didn’t mean we needed the key to find it, more the fact that it may indicate the presence of Mendicant Bias himself. The only two people that know he’s there are John and Cortana. However, Cortana is now ‘dead’ and John is still under the impression that the Ark was destroyed in the explosion from Inst-04(B). Only parts of ONI knows the Ark is still intact.

Agreed. I simply included it for the means of being concisely-thorough =]
But hey…you never know.
