Halo Legends and the Halo Games.

I’m also not sure if this would be the best place for this thread.

As much as I personally dislike Halo Legends because it just doesn’t mesh with the rest of the established fiction, I’m a sucker for bright shiny things of mass destruction. As such I have secret burning desires for the Yggdrasil armor and the Booster Frames.

Any chance we will see them in H5 and/or H6? Or better yet: Use them in H5 and/or H6?

Booster Frames and the Prototype suit are both canon, and, as far as I can tell, fit in pretty well with established canon. I doubt we’ll see either in future Halo titles, though.

One thing I will say regarding Halo legends: keep in mind that many of the visuals are non-canon, though the events are.

Tis sad. I would hope that they would be playable in the future.

Yggdrasil has that whole Matryoshka doll thing going on.

SpLaser blocking a Sword?

That whole “lemme throw you the rest of the way…” thing so MC can get to Halsey?

No split jaw Elite females?

I thought that some of the episodes of Halo Legends weren’t canon, though some were. Things such as the 1337 episode. I mean that was a bit off, so I’d be happy if that wasn’t. I’m not sure though.

SpLaser blocking the sword is a little weak, but arguments could be made. Perhaps the mechanisms that power the laser were enough to temporarily disruped the magnetic field holding the plasma sword together, causing it to weaken enough for the SpLaser to hold it. You could also just right it off a sci-fi action.

Kelly throwing the Chief works fine, I don’t see a problem there.

And the female Elite goes back to the “visuals being non-canon”. The artist feminized the female Elite in “The Duel” to make her to appear more relatable to the viewer. This allows the viewer to feel more sympathetic when she’s killed. Canonically, female Elites would look more like male Elites, possibly slimmer with some minor anatomical difference. But yes, female Elites would also have the split jaw.

I wish I could find it but I remember Frankie saying that everything in Halo Legends was Canon except the Spartan 1337

I suppose my feelings about how it looked are spilling over and contaminating my opinion on the actual events. It all looks so… stereotypically Japanese. And that’s not a good thing because it’s the same limited number of tropes used over and over again.

That said, I got extreme nostalgia when I saw the Booster Frames and was instantly reminded of Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory’s Dendrobium Orchis. I’ll still pine for them, and the Yggdrasil mech suit.
