Halo: Legacy (Game)?

Here’s the game (if you could call it that): You can pick 12 weapons, 14 maps, and 4 assorted “elements” or “game configurations” from ANY of the Halo games (except Halo 4, since it’s not out yet, that would be unfair) to create your own custom “Dream Halo Mixtape” or Legacy Collaboration, if you will.

Weapons: you can pick, for example, the Sniper Rifle from Halo 2 (and not just be bound to saying “Sniper Rifle” in general), or the Halo: CE Pistol, etc., with all their clip size, firing rate, damage, and general appearance (albeit updated texture/resolution-wise, of course) in-tact from the game specified.

Maps: Can be originals or remakes from any of the games. So you could pick Zanzibar from Halo 2, or do Last Resort from Halo 3; the choice is yours. Each map would be “updated” to have current-gen graphics, but nothing else. No added parts that aren’t in the original or remade variations, just assume the graphics would be consistent across all of them for the purpose of fluidity.

Elements / Configurations: Meaning you could have Halo 2’s dual-wielding, or Halo 3’s jump height/speed, or Halo: Combat Evolved’s shields, etc. Damage not relevant, as that would be determined by the weapons you choose as to how powerful they are in whatever game you choose them from, etc.

Helllllllllllll No. We don’t need a clone.

It wouldn’t be a clone. A lot of people love all the games for different reasons. And since you can’t play Halo: Combat Evolved or Halo 2 online anymore (except for on a PC with very few people, a la Halo 2 for PC), and since Halo 3’s online presence/population is severely dismal, I think it would be a great idea. Especially since, even if you could play all the previous games online today with a large online population, it would still do away with having to switch game discs, and it would (potentially, if done right) combine the best things of all the games and none of the worst.

I’d easily pay full price for that game, but think it would make more sense as a $39.99 game, like Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary was.

By the way, moderators, I just realized I posted this in the “Halo 4” forum on accident. Please move it for me, if you feel so inclined. Does the author get notified if it gets moved, speaking of which?

Hmm. Disappointing: I thought I wouldn’t be the only one interested in this idea, or at least theorizing it for fun. Has Halo really fallen that far in recent years, or are people just that tight with their money that they’d rather just keep everything separate?

Strange.
