Halo isn't a game that can last 10 years

No matter what point in Halo, it would have fallen off just for due to the limitation.

For one thing, Halo only strives off of gamemodes and maps. Unless 343i plan for Infinite to have 100 maps and 50 interesting modes in 10 years, the game will bore over. But then again, people will just complain about repetitiveness and maps being worse from the last. And with the community’s restrictions on customization options, you are very limited on how “A spartan should look/have”. Military gear apparently is all a Spartan should customize. No armor animations, no beast references, no picture emblems (Only symbols), no clothes unless it’s a raggedy cloth, no bright colors.

The only thing the company can control is the storyline. But when that ends, you can only milk so far before it doesn’t make sense. If anything, 343i should just create forge the best it can be, allow custom games, allow mod implementation, and just make that the end of Infinite. Halo online is the community’s game. The company only has limited control of the storyline.

Maybe Bungie left because they realized that. That’s why Destiny 2 has story control online with players that can do whatever they want in gameplay.

D2 is a looter shooter that has 10 times the amount of loot than Infinite will ever have, and you can acquire a good portion of it just by simply playing the game.

Infinite is nothing but a shop. So you’re right, it won’t last 10 years, I’ll give it 3 the most. Hell, it will probably take that long just to feel like we have a complete game at the rate this company works.

Im not comparing the success length of Destiny and Halo. Im just saying a game like Halo Infinite will not last long due to its core system. It needs a full overhaul if it wants to go longer, or just hand it to the community.

They haven’t got a roadmap for the first 6 months let alone 10 years…such hyperbole is actually hilarious. This game will be dead inside 10 months if they don’t get their :poop::poop::poop: together.

They need to just launch a new Halo every 3-5 years. And they need to open the franchise a bit and build two separate kinds of Halo’s. One with Master Chief and one with a new story and characters set in a different or parallel story arch.

They also need to give us something to work towards. Ranks, armors, etc… Then the game will last a while. But first it has to be playable. And currently Halo Infinite is not.

D2 has not had any new maps for years. This year the game will have 2 recycled maps and 1 new map. Bungie neglected PvP for the past 3 years, and its Crucible is an absolute mess.

The story line has been all over the place during the same period. Much of the lore is now provided through written description rather than through cinematics and player activity because Bungie no longer has the resources to deliver the quantity and quality of content as when they had support from Activision.

In regard to Halo not lasting 10 years, the same could have been said a few months after D2 was released. D2 was an absolute disaster with players rejecting the numerous changes made after D1. Over a period of months there was recovery, but in recent years the game lost many veteran players.
