Halo isn't a game for cosmetics, they will run out of cosmetic ideas and stretch them them thin

There is only so much you can do to a Halo armour to make it different. Halo 5 is a great example of this. There is just a lot of armours that are just thrown together and some turned out really ugly like the seeker helmet and that’s because you can only take it so far.

This is why there are effects like fire and glowing mohawks because they know they can’t do much with what they have.

They should’ve gone with the old model. Release multiplayer and campagin together for 60 bucks.

Cosmetics should be a background thing. It should be a thing that’s already in game. You shouldn’t be able to buy cosmetics. There should be unlocks for cool amour if you gain an achievement like finishing on legendary but that’s as far as it goes.

This game isn’t Fortnite where you can create an entirely new character and it fits the game. They already did this with the tenrai armour. It looks nothing like a Spartan armor at all.

I think way down the line halo won’t look like Halo anymore with all these cosmetics. The outlines already ruin the asthetics and every update it just gets worse.

This is a true risk Infinite is likely to run into if it seeks to live out a 10 year life span as a live service.

Totally agreed. The “cat ears, glowing mohawks, now halos on our heads” are only the beginning, but then again how long have we had hot pink armour? I’ve never taken the multiplayer seriously when it comes to tone, so maybe it’s just a matter of people getting used to it or being bothered enough by it to quit. As evidenced by the fact microtransactions went beyond mobile about a decade ago, the former is much more likely.

But yes, expect more of this. It happens with most, if not all, games with cosmetic microtransactions eventually.

A new Halo game should release every 3-4 years. This live service isn’t fit for Halo. Though it could fit forge and maybe a Halo Battle Royal. But not a normal Halo game.

the only place I can see being excessively stretched is the coating system sadly.

for me I would be more accepting of its absurdities if infinite wasn’t so needlessly restrictive with its systems when it comes to customisation.

a second avenue of stretched to its limits would also be the AI’s

Yeah I think Halo was always going to struggle, with getting people to pay for stuff. Of course they still have assassinations they can sell. The armour coatings have a wider range, but it’s still going to be hard.

Fortnite crushed it as has all the outside deals and characters from different mediums.

Hopefully they can come up with some good ideas. I love the Mythic armour from MCC so that’s definitely one path they can go down. Let’s get some crusader armour on the go.

I think it wouldn’t be as bad if it didn’t feel like splitting hairs excessively.
