I search for an average of 15-30 minutes for games on Halo 5 in Quick Play, Core Play, Slayer, and Arena. Many times, we get kicked out because there aren’t enough players in the playlist. When we do miraculously find the few other players still playing Halo 5, one of them disconnects, causing the entire lobby to break and forcing us to restart our search all over again.
How does a triple A game apart of Xbox’s #1 exclusive franchise perform so poorly years after launch?
First and foremost, 343 have prioritized the MCC this last year. You cant expect people to stick around in a game forever that no longer gets updates, sadly.
A big chunk of the population that is left in Halo 5 is grinding XP at this point, so the playlists that are easy to match in tend to be the Warzone variants and whatever the double XP Arena list is.
Personally I don’t ever have any trouble finding matches in the Fiesta playlists either (although I am solo searching so maybe that helps). I don’t think Halo 5 lacks population, I think that the people who are left just don’t have as much enthusiasm for the vanilla playlists.
I’m sure you are aware that weekends and evenings (US Time) tend to be the highest player count.
(Also, if you ever have someone in your own party disconnect when you try to search, try having everyone join a custom game first. That seems to fix the disconnecting party member issue for my group)
The population issue also depends on when you are trying to find matches. We play in the evenings and typically don’t have issues looking for matches is Fiesta and the featured playlist(s). Part of the population issue is that most of the people who are still playing, are still here because we enjoy the game and/or grinding for xp.
Where do you hail from? I play Slayer/arena/swat occasionally every now and then. Me and my buds usually don’t have to search for more than a minute.
I got no issues in morning n evening gettin quickly matches. sorry it aint workin for you. might be a regional thing?
