Halo is not going downhill.

Soon they have been working hard as far as i have heard. and they have been working on plans for bring population back up.

Let’s be honest here: most of the people who are going to buy Halo 5 aren’t going to hate the game because of Sprint. Sprint is just one undesirable gameplay feature. The gunplay for Halo 5 is great, it has equal starts, new, fun game modes, and new things confirmed in the full game that will add on that. The population will not die down simply because of Sprint. To the people saying Halo 5 will be dead simply because of Sprint, I strongly disagree. I have no opinion on Sprint; I don’t care if it stays or goes, though I do see more valid arguments for those who dislike it which is why I tend to air on their side of things. However, it is too early to make long-term judgments for both sides, though I do believe 343 is in the right direction.

Campaign and co op wise Halo is doing fine. Sales are great because of these things as well.

It’s the PvP multiplayer that is having some serious issues. Halo cannot retain any kind of online player base nor can it sell post launch MP DLC.

I disagree. I think sprint is the main issue.

Sprint causes elongated maps, which causes a range increase on weapons. Elongated maps + weapons with tons of range + long kill times = a very stagnant playing game.

Halo 5 is Halo last chance at making it big again. As of right now I love what they are doing. Hopefully they can get close to Halo 2 as it still the best halo multiplayer game.

Are you kidding? Halo 3 is the highest-selling and longest-lasting game in the series by a landslide.

Wasn’t low TTK the issue with Halo 5?

I get what you are saying, but I am still enjoying halo a lot.

SchoolsCanceled, 343 and the gaming industry have basically brainwashed you. When you think of “Sprint”, you think of Running With Guns Down. Sprint or a temporary boost in movement speed doesn’t have to be Running With Guns Down. But yet you think of the two as the same thing.

ADS animations and Running With Guns Down violate the arena principles that Halo’s foundation was always built on. With the combination of many of these new mechanisms in Halo 5, you have to sit down and think about it for a moment before you realize the truth of the situation. Once I actually did that, I realized I was becoming a sucker.

What exactly where we proven wrong about sprint? all of our arguments are strong. The pro sprint side is basically “it feels faster” and “immersion”. In fact this immersion card has no solid foundation, spartans can run at the speed of cars.

I also have a hard time wondering if half of the people here understand immersion. A while back there was a gore post, people were saying we should not have any gore, like what? Gore is not immersive but sprint is?(not saying limbs should be flying)

Well you must have had better luck then me. My full friend list at the time all made up of halo 2 players quit the game within 6 month of it release.

2 out of the 10 ppl who argue again sprint are actually arguing about how in doesn’t work in HALO 5 for example makes ppl run away, makes base speed to slow etc. The other 8 arguing how it does not fit in bungies halo for example “bigship”. No one is arguing you put sprint in halo 2 or 3 it will fail. This game is built with sprint in mind this IS NOT bungies halo. So saying sprint doesn’t fit in “halo” hold no weight halo is now in different hands and halo will “become” what they want it to become. That does not mean everyone will like it but you can’t try to make these mechanics fit in bungie halo. They are not trying to recreate bungies halo

Its certainly not in the “ditch” but it is in no way as popular as it once was.

That’s not really how forums work…

But I think halo is also on an upswing. An upswing from MCC that is. MCC put a very bad reputation on a dying franchise. Basically I choose to believe (aka hope) halo is on an upswing from that.
