Ok i been piss how people think halo 4 is just rip off of COD…First, Halo was made in 2001 and inspired COD to be created since halo was a big success…Second COD also stole matchmaking from halo when halo 2 live went on they saw it was a success…Third, Halo entire storyline/concept had to be created while COD just based it on war and weapons on the real world which has no creativy…AND LASTLY HALO 4 DID TAKE AWAY ALOT OF IDEAS FROM COD BUT 343 WAS JUST GETTING REVENGE FOR COD ALWAYS COPYING HALO
No, no no nonono noooo. CoD wasn’t “inspired” by Halo. It came out on the PS1 under the title “Medal of Honour”.
Second, CoD 1 had multiplayer. Didn’t steal it from a future game. Third, it did have some creativity because it’s not 100% accurate to history. They needed to make up levels and areas for the gameplay. Very few levels were actually based on real, historical events.
Well seeing how they pretty much took things from cod and re-named them, they kinda did.
> Ok i been piss
That sucks mate. Seems like a messy situation.
Interview with Frank O’Connor.
The FPS genre has evolved quite significantly since the release of Halo 3 in 2007. Have games like Call of Duty had an influence on your project?
Certainly, and we’ve hired people from Treyarch and Infinity Ward, and so those people are bringing some of their habits to the game.
But we haven’t tried to chase that tail. Those games are good for specific reasons, and Halo is good for a different set of specific reasons. I think the closest we’ve come to that conversation about Call of Duty, is that we wanted to have an amazing player progression experience that wasn’t just aesthetics.

Fact: Halo was the first console FPS of its kind to have one touch melee and grenades, as well as a two weapon system which were both significant core concepts that contribute to the unique flow of gameplay.
Fact: Halo was the first console FPS of its kind to successfully combine aircraft and ground vehicle combat into its gameplay.
Face: Halo 2 completely revolutionized Xbox Live and double its population upon release, successfully jump starting the service that would become the dominant online console multiplayer service it is today.
Halo 4 ripped off Call of Duty? Lol NO. Call of Duty still can’t even get Theater mode right, which is an ancient concept. Every Halo game got more and more specific with the customization options, anyone who’s anyone that plays Halo knew loadouts et al would happen eventually.
You all have every right to disagree, but it would be like arguing that the sky is green and not blue. The entire Call of Duty franchise followed in Halo: Combat Evolved’s footsteps.
Some of you might say “Oh well butz Halo followed in teh Doom’s footsteps.” or other smart remarks, but know this: I’m not saying Halo is the first FPS EVAR. It’s simply the most influential and innovative with the features the first game made.
ITS funny how Halo is being called a RIP OFF in its own site…
Halo isn’t a rip off of CoD…Halo 4 is. Halo was original. Halo 4, on the other hand, took perks, customized loadouts, killstreaks, sprint, hitmarkers, the crappy ranking system, instant respawn (crap), and more (so much it’s hard to pull out off the top of my head. EDIT: Spec ops… I mean Spartan Ops) from Call of Duty. This is why, after 10 years, I am starting to realize that I am no longer interested in Halo.

You’d blindly defend Halo 4 to the death. Halo 4 is a complete rip off of cod, doesn’t matter who did what first.
I respect your opinion and understand how halo has gotten quite boring i wish it use to be like Halo ce mulitplayer/pc…And hope u all will repsect my opinion

Hitmarkers…do you mean like, an indication of some sort on the direction you’re being shot from? Because that’s not new…I’m just about positive Halo 3 had that…at the very least Reach did.
