343, it’s time to throw in the towel. You have had 3 chances and you have stricken out. If 343’s Halo was another game of a different title, but had the same gameplay, do you actually think the game would sell? OF COURSE NOT!
Microsoft’s pathetic attempt of over hyping it’s only exclusive content worth buying is now back lashing. Fans everywhere are disappointed, but Microsoft can’t hear when ttheir ears are filled with our dollar bills.
343i has taken away EVERY aspect of Halo that we once enjoyed. YOU played as a war hero who fought in a galactic war and saved humanity, the master chief. Now you play as a cyborg emotional master chief who disobeys orders to chase his fake artificial girlfriend, Cortana. 343 has made Halo a war story about soldiers into a futuristic soap opera.
Halo. Isn’t that a ring? What the game is named after? Where is it? It died, along with Bungie. Yup, no Halo rings anymore means no Halo.
What about the Flood? We are missing that too, right? Yes. The main reason why people loved the storyline wasnt because of some super historical backstory on how the universe was created! It was a simple war between Man (UNSC), Alien (Covenant), Robots (Sentinels) and Zombies (Flood). Now all we have are our typical Human vs Alien theme. Less variety, less interest, less Halo.
What about the gameplay feel? Well, if you didn’t know, Bungie fled after they introduced Armor lock. In the 4 main multiplayer games, there was only 1 game where you can do some sort of special ability, such as sprint. With Halo 4, sprinting was added as a normality, and many other things, such as thruster pack and promethean vision, were born. However, Halo 5 took this to a whole different level. Instead of making Halo Halo, they tried to copy a game that has been DESTROYING 343i since they took over: Call of Duty. Now Halo has lost the feeling of being Halo, and now has sprint, a thruster pack (the exo straffe), ground pound, and aim ins similar to Call of Duty! Don’t even get me started with Halo 4’s loadouts or Halo 5’s req systems.
Over all, Halo isn’t Halo anymore. It just isn’t. If you love something, let go. Either you love the game, or you live long enough to see 343 ruin it
it’s a sad day.
