Sea of thevies did a pretty good job with its cross platform play but it has me cautious about Halo’s future with PC. This can be HUGE for Halo if Microsoft/343 implements it the right way.
Two major things I’m concerned about.
Competitive play
Forge
Will Halo shift from controller to mouse and keyboard for competitive play? I vote yes. Halo can easily IMHO gain a eSport following like League of Legeneds and Counterstrike if it did this. You just cannot get the same accuracy from a controller vs mouse/keyboard setup. More people have PCs as well which therefore will make Halo accessible. Also this should be a no brainer but console gamers should have the choice to play with only other Xbox gamers for matchmaking or team up with their PC friends and play cross platform.
Forge - Forge should be totally optimized for PC. Even if that means giving PC forge more love than console. That would be a BOLD move from 343 and let’s face it PC would make better maps than we can ever do on the console. Maybe some Forgers could chime in here and discuss what they want but from what I’ve seen from what can be done on the Halo CE Port always amazes me.
Besides all the negativity with pc hacking and mouse advantage. I’m actually excited to see if people will create custom campaigns with Halo Infinite like we have seen with SPV3.

Yeah I’m pretty happy about it. I won’t be playing on PC but think its pretty great Halo will be open to another huge platform. Hopefully the game is actually good and we can get a decent following on Twitch too.

It wouldn’t reclaim its number one spot if 343i continues to make the same mistakes they made in the previous two games. Also, a lot of damage has been done to the franchise’s reputation so even if we do receive an excellent game it’ll be long climb back to the top.

With a right direction/marketing they can easily do this, double XP weekends, more in game 343 interaction with the fan base, damn even pull a fortnite but a little different have celebrity 4v4 games streamed.

You’re right. I really think overall sales is less important than population retention. What good is it to have a million people playing day one and then 10,000 a week later? To capture a player base they need all the features we expect day one.

No that is not the case, it was because Halo 5 was bad.
Although a lot of people including myself want it to come to pc it’s ultimately MS decision. 343 probably wants to release on pc (steam) but MS is holding them back. Just image how much halo would grow if it releases on steam because there’s still a lot of people who want halo on pc. The only thing that’s definite is that it’s gonna launch on windows 10 but I don’t count that as pc.

But it literally is. I’m all for being against leaving out a third of all PC gamers (according to the Steam hardware survey, anyway), and restricting the game to an unpopular platform that feels kind of half-baked. But we can do all of that without being ridiculous and denying the fact that any desktop computer or laptop running Windows 10 is literally a PC.
