this game play is just like halo 4 and halo 4 was bad when it came to game play. sprint alone made huge issues in map design. you can see the same in halo infinite. open areas. long hallways. super stretched out
halo 5 and classic halo were both unique because no other games were like it. halo infinite maps and game modes can be created in halo 5 forge. there is nothing new in infinite and it doesnāt play good either.
having only 2 game modes. 100% better game compared to the past games.

I personally could care less about progression character customization. The important Core aspects of what makes the game fun you cant due or missing. This is such a shame because the base game is a lot of fun.
Halo Infinite has the worst weapon balancing of any Halo to date. Weapon pickups are pointless aside from sniper and rockets. Vehicles are tuned all over the place. My man its not that fun.
Dude all of those things released with the games back then and more and it didnāt take 6 years. They didnāt need to make anything live service because quality was good. The current gaming priorities are bass ackwards and they make bad decisions like they have no other options and its kind of unforgivable knowing how good things could be and thereās no justifiable reason why they arenāt that way other than GREED
I think thatās just the thing about your position. Youāre a newcomer to Halo and donāt realize the history. Things were objectively better in 2007. The player had freedom and were not held back by a game studio too big for their trousers who wanted to milk you for all you had. 343 is holding back content releasing because of a prolonging marketing strategy and they make it live service and āfree to playā for more money than they can get for the standard $60. The only reason is greed and it is half the game it could be because of it. The only way youāll experience the full game is pledge your allegiance to 343 for the rest of your life. Do you see why this doesnāt go well with the fans that went through the golden age of gaming to see their favorite products turn to this crap? Its a shame and Halo will never be good anymore because fundamental issues with the system.

I played through whole MCC and I certainly dont see what you old timers see as a problem. I guess you guys had some secret version nobody else have access to.
Those defending the game are not saying there is nothing wrong with it or that it does not need more work.

I dont see anything of this level of bad with Infinite. If you have massive problems then wait a year and then play. Whats the problem really? For example I am really dissapointed by BF2042, but I am farily sure that I will play it in a year once it is fixed. Infinite on the other hand does not need actual fixes, but rather some minor tweaks⦠thats a huge difference. At least for meā¦
I wonāt argue that it isnāt better now and forgive me for bringing up COD in this conversation but Iām sure the same thing was said when Advanced Warfare came out. Fast forward today and all the COD developers have taken numerous steps backwards to fit the needs of their fanbase and now they have one of the most popular COD games since the early MW and Black Ops games (not Vanguard).
Goes to show that introducing new things isnāt always a sure fire way to bring in the old and new. Is it possible? Yes but a lot of devs fail to do so. Hence why Halo 5, to the community, was likely the weakest of the franchise and now Infinite has taken steps backwards (just like COD!) and has the potential to be a great Halo game.
P.S. 343, please revert back to the flight build of Infinite
Iām pretty sure most people here love the core gameplay and mechanics (except the vehicle physics, probably). Doesnāt mean you cant criticize the game.
2/3 BTB maps are assymetrical. Assault rifle range is well in excess of radar range. Vehicle and weapon spawns are assymetrical. Playlist variety is nonexistent. Commando is a nearly useless weapon in itās current state. Melees are outright broken thanks to player collision issue.
Gameplay is great, but this is the most flawed Halo release since MCC being unplayable for a solid year from launch.
Yeah, I sort of liked the Commando when I started playing, but I ended up noticing that itās too weak.
Iām not sure, but I think the AR, BR and Magnum are all more powerful.
Itās like they combined the SMG with the DMR and nerfed it.
Also, it doesnāt help that itās not a starting weapon (I wish they would bring loadouts back).
ARs might have a lot of range, but theyāre also sort of weak.
I think itās always been like this, but most fights with them end up with players punching each other, which might be because ammo runs out.
Iām not sure if it would be a good change or not, but maybe a shorter range with more power or ammo would help.
The maps and their spawns are odd, but itās not just the larger maps.
Also, they donāt have the same charm as the maps from Halo CE-Reach.
While those games did have some maps I didnāt think were great, they each had far more maps that I did like than Infinite has.
I donāt think Iād miss playing on the maps that are in the game right now, aside from Recharge and Launch Site.
Iāll be honest here I kinda like sprint and clamber, sure it creates map design issues ,but iām sure it can be done by just adding a litte complexity to maps, Iāve had many times in other halo games where if i had just been able to move a littl faster i could have done something, however Iām not exactly pleased with this game, either.
Loadouts are the stupidest thing ever, Thatās what killed halo 4 for me along with the stupid equipment or whatever it was that made you a better vehicle user⦠i hated that because I like to be able to do everything and not be stuck to one roleā¦
Im down with this, FOMO kills me though man I need all the SHINEYS ⦠as for the MP which is all I care about. I am freaking loving this, the game is fun.
The gameplay is decent but needs polish the netcode seriously needs fixing twice iāve stuttered over a cliff in a warthog⦠Itād be a small thing if it was just me but I had a passenger so the game stuttering just knocked out 2 players out of gameplay temporarily thatās like 2 people quitting for the insane 8 or so seconds it takes to respawn i really think the respawn timers need halved.
Iām not sure how loadouts would make you stick to one role.
There were still weapons and abilities on the maps.
Loadouts were just there to let you choose your starting equipment from what I remember.
Halo 4 had specific equipment you could not change on the fly. totally seperarte of your usable equipment like proomethan vision jet pack, sprint and roll⦠I forget what it was called but it essentially made you prety much stick to one or two roles.
