Oh yeah, SO much better now that I can’t choose what I want to play and I have how to play dictated to me through curated playlists and random garbage challenges. Sooooo much better. Why would I ever want to think for myself or make my own decisions?

Old and still gold.
MCC did better than halo infinite in E V E R Y aspect so far…i think. “yOu’re JuSt stuck in the paAaaAAAAast?”
op didnt think twice before posting
I am not Halo veteran fan. I played through whole MCC and to me Infinite feels modern and simply better.
So I totally agree with OP.
MCC was awesome, but Infinite is simply the next step of evolution.
It did had alot of steps though, but 6 years in the making? It’s evolving in both forward and backwards, i cannot comprehend anymore.
And we’re still paying a full $60 for the campaign so its not like it ever needed to be this way. They easily could have just keep it campaign and multiplayer and kept all the fans happy without monetizing the customization. Good grief, its so simple and people can’t see how stupid this mode of release is.
lmao-mao
i knew something was wrong this guy
Free to play type games has ruined modern gaming, now we have to pay 5$ for existing.
I’m not even disagreeing with that lol. I 100% agree with you.
you finished campaign? You saw the forge yet? How is coop?
Games are more complex than before… it takes more time to make than 15 years ago…
There IS some merit to this but I don’t think it’s really the problem.
We became accustomed to having some control over our spartan’s appearance and it only got more interesting with each game and now with such a heavily monetized system (Anubis armor for $20? Really?) it breeds negativity about the entire game, making lesser issues appear more inflamed.
In my honest opinion, Infinite competes with Reach and H3 for being the most interesting and fun Halo multiplayer, which I loved more than H4, I never even played H5 because I didn’t enjoy H4 much and heard nothing but bad about H5, to the point that It’s not in my headcanon for Halo.
There are just some issues that, while they ARE issues that should be resolved soon, have been blown out of proportion because of the backlash for the monetization schemes, or alleged monetization schemes.
Hey don’t get me wrong man, the game is unfrigginbelievable. I love this game, the game-modes are quick and easy to play three or four of in 30-45 minutes. The graphics are fantastic and the gameplay is new and smooth (with the exception of occasional rough server issues on BTB) But we are missing a HUGE specification here. I have played all of the mainline Halo games in chronological order (barring Halo 5, I couldn’t bring myself to buy it) at least 3 times each. (except for Halo 4 which I grimaced through once with a friend and once by myself. It was still terrible.) Halo Infinite is absolutely without a doubt the best Halo game in the past decade…made by 343. As great as the game is, and I am sure the campaign will be fire as well, there is no beating the phenomenal story, gameplay and the doggone fantastic soundtracks for Halo 3 and Halo Reach. Now I will surrender that they are games of a different era and a different age in gaming, but I look ahead to a day when I can sit down and play those games with MY kids, and that is a timelessness that you just cannot beat no matter how fresh and new a game is.
But that is just my personal thoughts, I am just as hyped about this game as any other hardcore Halo fan and look forward to seeing where the supposed final chapter in the saga lands Chief and any friends he brings with him. (fingers crossed hoping for the Arbiter to make a comeback)
Lots of people care about it, and those people in turn show up in my matches. Regardless of whether or not I care about the cosmetics, the cosmetics and challenge system do indirectly affect me, because they incentivize different behaviors within the game. If that doesn’t bother you, that’s cool, but it does have an affect on gameplay.
Yeeeeah, they could have picked a better high level color. But it is supposed to be a ONI thing, so I respect that. XD
Agreed. They did try to make something akin to Valhalla by giving us Fragmentation, but it just isn’t the same.
I’ve found that smaller teams tend to result in games with more personality and care put into them. Bungie, at the time of making Halo 3, was actually not the massive studio it was when it made Destiny 1 or 2.
As an indie dev myself, I can tell you it’s easier than ever to produce content. The software tools available to us today make the tools used in 2010 look like antiques.
And if you look at it, Halo 5 is much more complex than Infinite, I don’t think that it’s “Better” but it left a lot of expectations behind. Infinite does its best to simplify the experience. So no, I don’t believe you can blame the complexity of the game for the issues we’re having. Far more likely, is that many of the systems were scrapped last year or the year before and this is the 6’th build of the game, with many legacy features still poking their ugly heads out (bots betraying the fact that there is a ton of hidden content waiting for market release, etc.)
Personal critique: I liked Hemmorage much more than Valhalla. Having the incredibly long sight ranges but natural elevation blocking sniper cheese did wonders for how those matches played out.
Fragmentation is… a series of narrow paths that prevent vehicles from being as useful as we remember.
I think Halo 5 had better gameplay than Infinite. Does that mean I’m afraid of change? Infinite feels like a regression to the slower gameplay of days past, while also not attaining what made them fun in the first place.
Truth. Bitter, frustrating, truth.
My point is that people claim that they took 6 years to create MP of Halo Infinite alone…
Not all indie developers are making big and quality games fast.
I personally love Ground Branch, but look how much time it takes them. The progress so far is fantastic and I love thier game despite the time needed.
Me as newcomer to Halo I simply dont understand all that fus. As I said I finished whole MCC including H5. And I am totally hyped for campaign & I totally love MP. The issues which community has are imho very minor and can be resolved to everyones content withing lets say Q1 22? I dont understand why are people so upset.
I was personally happy that they released MP ahead of schedule since I had ton of fun during preview builds…
