Halo is better now. You're just stuck in the past

yeah well I don’t recall ske7th saying any of this, or anyone ,why all of a sudden now is this known? Why couldn’t 343 be more transparent I think if they had told us this there’d be less tension but, now that they didn’t tell us people could think they are liars or something…

This is a leak this is something that they tried to keep under wraps they weren’t wanting this to be found out is why and I think that’s mostly due to Microsoft because apparently the entire construction was awful for nearly everyone involved and they were using contract workers basically to exploit their employees so they didn’t have to give people full-time jobs and the tools that they were using to make Halo infinite also were tools that were difficult to use and since these contract workers could only work for 18 months they didn’t have a lot of time to actually familiarize themselves with the tools at their disposal and then they were immediately replaced with another contract worker apparently and I think the reason why they probably kept this under wraps is probably cuz they wanted to keep their job as I bet you if they did still the beans they would probably have in the fire and that’s probably the reason why a lot of them wanted anonymity

still could have mentioned contract workers.

I think the fear of losing their jobs probably kept them from saying anything and the reason why they were so transparent in the first place

still scummy. and caused alot of tension with players.

Yeah but you can’t really blame 343 employees for wanting to keep their jobs

But I do agree they should have at least said something about how the development was difficult due to restrictions and management

As long as “gameplay” doesn’t involve the horrible bash that is in place, sure. But collision stuff really needs fixing. Super frustrating.

Just saw this, but basically, I’m thinking more about the battlepass and challenge based progression. For stuff out of the store? yeah, doesn’t matter. For the battlepass, it has a follow on affect in that people are being incentivized to behave in certain ways depending on the challenges they have. Maybe they quit to find a mode they need, or maybe they stop playing the objective because they need X kills with Y weapon. So, in that way, the cosmetics, specifically the battlepass, are having a follow on affect, whether you buy the battlepass or not.

I think in this case trying to remake an engine, having poor management and having poor studio policies (especially not rehiring people that were actively developing the game again) among other issues makes it really funny. This game could have been more of what it will become had they managed to make their studio functional. This has been an issue with every 343 release. H4 only released pretty well because for all its worth it was practically speaking, a pallet swop of Halo Reach (functionally its the same as Halo Reach and of course wasade with the same engine with tweaks to support new features like the promethean disintegration). My main issue has been that 343 can make good games H5 proves it. But to just pull the rug underneath yourself was foolish. Especially since they could use proprietary engines (that are completely tweakable, aka they could Shoe horn their old tech into them to keep some wanted quirks). They will fix this game, they did it with H5 and with this 10 year goal, they will have to. I honestly would not care if they just used a proprietary engine and completely scrapped this build and just made us re-download it assuming it keeps our progress and plays similiar (with upgrades as they see fit).

Because previous Halo games since Halo Reach(Minus 5) have been creating a narrative context for your multiplayer Spartan? thus necessitating and amplifying the need for a vast customisation system.

combined with basic colour options being a thing since Halo 2 allowing for a simple colour combination.

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer spartan itself has been given a narrative context as a “Spartan IV held in reserves while Chief and Infinity have gone MIA” (during the six month time gap.

Halo Reach did this via making Noble 6 your spartan to make your own so to speak, Halo 4 did this via Fireteams Crimson, the player squad counterpart to Spartan Ops’s Fireteams Majestic.

OP is right. Don’t you remember when BTB always crashed and we had to pay $10 microtransactions to choose our armor color? Remember in Halo 3 when we had to restart our consoles in order to load a custom game or when we got penalized for bungie’s connection issues? You guys are acting like this is new!
